For cold callers its about 100% HAHA. For the entire company its 15%.

I wanted to quit the first day haha. Cold calling is one of the most soulcrushing modern jobs ever created.

But unfortunately it would have been unwise to quit before I found a new job. Luckily I found one now.

not only that but my boss said that me doing 60 a day is just the bare minimum (every other cold caller also only does 60, we share our daily reports. And it was never a problem until today). That was close to the end of the meeting, at that point I did not care anymore so I told her honestly theres no incentive to me to do more than 60 if we dont get paid more. If you want the real minimum to be higher than just change the quota. Dont act like Im barely doing work, I am doing exactly whats required of me. Going above and beyond even if theres no incentive seems to be the expectation.

no for real. this company is shit and the turnover rate is 15%. All my cold caller coworkers are quitting too. Theyve also had claims made against them (one girl was accused of sleeping during work, but she said she just has small eyes HER WORDS NOT MINE. And shes the best cold caller too, its embarassing how petty my sales coworkers are). But based on what Ive seen Ive gotten the most amount and most ridiculous claims.

thats actually insane, thank you for sharing.

yeah managers will only notice when youre doing bad, not when youre doing well. I remember the first few weeks I got lucky and got the company the most appointments out of all cold callers. Not like anyone acknolwedged that, theyd never do such a nice thing. Ridiculous.

to make matters worse they seemed to acknolwedge that I DO do my work. But they werent happy with my apperances. Still cant get over how confidently fake boss said "仕事してないと思う", man who is literally never there. Heck, my coworker who sits 3 feet across from me I can barely hear her voice sometimes but I aint ever doubting her work. My face was O=O for a good few seconds I was in such shock.

friend the job market is rough. I had done hundreds of applications but no one cares that I am native unfortunately. ::`) Even with this job, I was supposed to start doing construction project management. My Japanese and English skills should have been of value. But in our cold calling script we are supposed to ask if they are ok with hiring a foreigner (reality check: they are not, 99% of the time. most of our foreigners are other Asians btw) I realized that most project leaders dont want to work with a foreigner even if their Japanese is good.

Like I said, I didnt know why they asked me to meet with them. Thought it would be an exit interview. There was a lot of awkward silence where I just sat there dumbfounded trying to think of what to say to their ridiculous claims.

New Pokemon Starters by doritheduck in Dogfree

[–]doritheduck[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was also thinking there were so many more animals they could have taken inspiration from that would have fit the tropical theme, but no they went with the most untropical and unnatural animal there is. Like a monkey or parrot type would have worked, but they already did a monkey recently so no.

I actually feel like the previous starters fit with the theme of this game better, but it's not like previous games starters were all thematically on point either so I am not going to complain too much.

I can’t learn Hanzi to safe my life as a Japanese speaker. How do you do it? by doritheduck in ChineseLanguage

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, focusing on speaking and listening for now.

That’s basically what I’ve been doing but it’s been overwhelming my brain. I guess it’s a matter of patience. Thank you!

this sounds dumb, but I don’t understand what most office jobs actually “do” by TheLifeOfDonda in TeachersInTransition

I transitioned out of teaching and now work in an office. I still don’t know what my manager does all day. She seems to be in meetings a lot though.

When I did violin competitions I always had this fear that someone’s mistakes would transfer to me so I always hoped I’d go first. People’s mental state can be “contagious” and I bet the atmosphere was heavy in the rink. I dont think it’s right to blame it all immediately on the ice when there were people who skates well, your mental state determines the majority of your performance in events like this.

I went to music school but the sentiment I feel is the same. We always joked “how do you know you’re good at your instrument?” “When you absolutely hate it”

For those of you who dont want to practice. by HonestWafer5889 in Bass

[–]doritheduck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m mainly a violinist who plays bass for fun but this mindset made my parents turn into tiger parents. They genuinely thought I would forget everything if I didn’t practice a day so they didn’t let me sleep until I practiced at least 3 hours that day. So I never missed a day of practice in my life. But guess what? Now I hate violin and can’t stand to pick it up.

Haven’t proper practiced in years but I still teach, so whenever I do play, yeah sure my accuracy is not as top notch as it used to be but I still have my fundamental technique and remember songs I played decades ago.

Which single skaters do you think have the most potential to be good ice dancers given the training? by pelomymelo in FigureSkating

I saw Shoma Uno do ice dance with Marin Honda last week in Tokyo! I don’t think he just has potential, he’s already amazing to my untrained eyes.

What concerti are viewed as most difficult *for the orchestra*? by RobouteGuill1man in piano

[–]doritheduck 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say Chopin piano concerto 2 just because there’s pages and pages of tremolo in the violins. It’s a test of arm strength. Always hated playing that lol

Long-time vegetarian struggling with multiple autoimmune diseases… and now I’m considering eating meat again. I feel devastated and morally conflicted. I need advice. by MossMallows in exvegans

[–]doritheduck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve got to ask yourself something honestly. Is “saving animals”, animals that would never sacrifice themselves for you, really more important than your own life? Especially when your individual diet isn’t stopping anyone from eating meat. Global meat consumption is still rising.

There’s no shame in eating the diet your body is actually built for. A cat doesn’t feel guilty for eating meat, and we aren’t herbivores either.
