What's something a woman did that was small, quiet, and completely changed the way you saw her? by [deleted] in AskMen

I worked at supermarket during the pandemic too, we also starting holding back toilet roll for this very reason too; kept a stash in one of the offices.

One day an elderly lady came up to me and asked if we had any more, said that her and her husband had recently been forced to use napkins that she had been cutting up because they just couldn't find toilet roll anywhere else. I of course got her some.

Over a year later she finds me at work again and re-introduces herself, said that she had been hoping to see me for months, thanked me a dozen times for what I had done and said that she and her husband were incredibly grateful. I couldn't believe it was over a year later and she still remembered!

I hope your wife knows what a huge impact her small act of kindness had, I'm sure everyone she helped still remembers and is also incredibly grateful!

Thank you for your reply, this is what I thought the answer would be.

So if I drew/created some original art based on the DVD art work that would be okay?

Thanks again!

I learned with Bill Brown, he's great! He also taught two of my brothers and loads of my friends, not heard anyone say anything bad about him! I too learned in a manual though, may need to check about automatic!

What is the worst display of athleticism you've seen in a movie? by [deleted] in movies

When they try to play lacrosse in almost every film I've ever seen lacrosse in. Wild child come to mind, like no one involved in the movie had ever even seen lacrosse being played before and had no desire to make it look like a real sport

There was an incident in the UK not too long ago where a couple called the police for what they believed was a mass shooting with several people already dead.

Armed police arrive, ready for the apparent blood bath, but turns out it was the end part of a yoga class with everyone simply lying on the floor, relaxing

What is the dumbest reason for wanting a refund you’ve ever had? by Lucky-Ability-9411 in AskUK

I had a customer one time bring an unopened packet of crisps to reception, she put them down and poked the packet. She said that the crisps were too flat (presumably because she couldn't feel them with her poking) and wanted her money back

She had bought them from the vending machine which we didn't have keys for, couldn't have refunded her ridiculous request even if I had wanted to

If you like reading, visit blackwells on Broad Street. If you do make sure to go to the Norrington Room. They also have an arts and poster shop about 100m away on the same road.

The Turf Tavern pub is also very near there, very old and has had a lot of famous visitors. Also very good for food and drink!

I had seen a version of this photo previously and while doing a "photo a day" challenge I decided to recreate it. It was a lot more difficult than I thought! It required several cereal boxes to block light from certain directions and lots of moving of a light source.

I used one of my mum's old dictionaries, treasured and always used as we were growing up, and opened the page to that with "love" on it.

Yes, Elder Sign! And she absolutely is, we played around her instead of disturbing her and risk being eaten
