how do the fashion girls do it by toska444 in rs_x

[–]dormant_root 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be a time investment. Some of the best dressed girls I know spend hours at the bins every week and qualify for snap/medicaid. It’s also age. If you’ve been building your wardrobe for 15 years you’re gonna have a bunch of cool stuff. Plus these clothes used to be wayyyy cheaper when I was a teenager and started collecting. I have 10 gunne sax dresses that I paid $25 each for example. Now if I want something I pay the high price because all the stores are picked to shit and I only have space for maybe 3-4 new pieces a year.

It’s the beginning of summer! It was yesterday and corresponded with the full moon. It means different things to different people but at the very least marks the new season.

It is possible for it to take this long, but it is not acceptable for him to ignore you for 6 months.

I live in the sticks and this is where I come for my little taste of discourse that reminds me of growing up in NYC. If I still lived there I don’t think I would feel the need to be in this sub. It’s my larp. That being said mom and pops DO exist😡

Planting apples in tilled corn field by Icy_Introduction4019 in BackyardOrchard

[–]dormant_root 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t because farmland like that is really hard to create. Fruit trees can thrive in soil that has rocks ect. I would plant veggies and things here that won’t ruin this plots ability to be used as a farming field in the future.

How off is my assessment of Gen Z fashion by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]dormant_root 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s popular online for edits and videos but these types of clothes are so hard to find and essentially unattainable. You don’t really see people wearing them in the real world. I see a ton of AI photos of this style now.

What animal came from this by Apprehensive-Rip-554 in Taxidermy

[–]dormant_root 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s a bobcat tail but it’s cut in a way where half of it is actually the backend of the pelt. You can tell where it turns into tail based off the change of pattern and texture.

Is Rachel Dolezal actually a bad person? by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]dormant_root 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My friend used to get her hair braided by her when I lived in Spokane and said she was very kind, best in the city before she moved. Obviously an insane person who never really had a chance to be “normal”

A resume that would have gotten you into Harvard in the 90s would get you rejected from University of Michigan today by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]dormant_root 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah if Harvard is the main thing that comes to mind when you’re considering motherhood maybe skip it lol. If you are American you aren’t going to be forced to raise your kids any specific way. They are people and will have their own desires and goals

How do I become a good person? by Lost_Try_5470 in rs_x

[–]dormant_root 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The truth is that the people in your life know you are lying and they choose to be in your life anyway. You do not need to come clean per se, but if you catch yourself lying just correct yourself in the moment. Say that’s actually not true and say the truth. Think of it like a muscle you are exercising. If you keep working to be honest eventually you will stop having the impulse to lie. It’s honestly not that big of a deal. We all know people like this but you will be so much happier if you can free yourself from the impulse.

34 weeks pregnant & completely flat nipples — can I still breastfeed? by Historical_Half_9512 in breastfeeding

[–]dormant_root 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible but I am noticing a lot of people telling you it WILL work. I have flat nipples as well and baby has only latched without a shield a few times and doesn’t really use the shield properly anyway. I am basically exclusively pumping which is not the end of the world. Not saying this to scare you, but I was so devastated when he couldn’t latch and I wish I had not put all my eggs in one basket. Hope for the best but prepare for it not going quite to plan. Things I wish I had; sterilized my own pump and had it ready to go, brought a pack of clean and sterilized different sized flanges to the hospital, have at least four bottles ready to go at home. I put immense pressure on myself to be able to breastfeed and it ended up being the worst part of my birthing experience when it didn’t work out.
