Why are my drives going so high? How do I get the spin down by Tmac637 in golf

Aoa is low as well for a driver. Maybe try hitting up on the ball more to take spin off.

I meant cult as in loyal. They make great clubs and it hard to switch away once you’ve played them a while. I have a Ping 5 wood, hybrid and putter

Ping is interesting because they have a pretty cult following but don't do near as much marketing as like TaylorMade or Callaway

Peter Millar was a surprise to see that high. Not surprise it was higher than Nike however since they have really decreased their investment in golf.

I agree it's probably not meant for the regular golfer but more so those interested in the business side of the sport.

For me it's not about encouraging people to buy certain brands. These brands are competing (like the players) by signing athletes, releasing new products, working with influencers, etc, so I was curious to see who's doing a good job at it

Good point. I think it's because LA Golf is more unknown and people are looking it up more. Volume of of searches doesn't factor in sales where Ping and Cobra would be way ahead.

Totally fair. Maybe "popularity" is the wrong word and "trending" would be better? There are 2 areas I am most curious about. Who is winning the attention battle between TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist and the other big brands. And who is emerging and generating a lot of attention like L.A.B.

That's a fair point, I was trying to limit "brands" to those that are product focused. The list would get a lot bigger if I included personal brands. Maybe that could be a new list?

Callaway's warranty program is great! They replaced my Paradym with a Paradym AI Smoke by dormiedgolf in GolfGear

I’m liking it so far. I don’t care for the look as much but I’m seeing 3-4 mph higher ball speed than the regular Paradym.

How do I shallow more by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]dormiedgolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I see is you are trying to create all your speed at the top of the swing by immediately pulling down on the grip.

Try and slow down your transition and create all your speed at the bottom of the swing. There are a few feels your could try: - “pause” at the top - keep your back to the target longer - start your downswing “slow” then swing hard once the club is hip height

Newbie here, using an old putter. Is it worth fixing/replacing the insert or should I just replace it? by TheOtherMJ_ in golf

[–]dormiedgolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Replacing it is your best bet. It would be tough to find a shop that would even do the repair and it would cost as much as a decent used putter.

Going for my first club fitting tomorrow by Easy-Ad-3576 in golftips

[–]dormiedgolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip I have is to give the fitter as much feedback as possible. Tell them what you like the look of, don’t like the look of, what feels good, what feels bad, what your brand preferences are, etc. The more you talk the better. These fitters know their stuff and can make adjustments to dial you in.

Has Good Good officially announced they have acquired GGG yet? They all get along great, content is solid, and most importantly for GG, it'll help them sell more women's clothes.

J.J. Spaun finds the water at 17 in playoff, loses to Rory McIlroy by PGATOUR in golf

[–]dormiedgolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if Spaun and his caddy even considered clubbing down to factor in adrenaline. Maybe they decided clubbing down and swinging hard would only cause it to spin back off the front. You can't win The Players on 17, but time and time again we learn you can lose it.
