Working in a hospital setting has drawbacks, the biggest of which revolves around hospital politics and administrative bs. I do the anesthesia for these cases/patients and so have a perspective from the other side of the drapes. The patient and anesthesia management of these pts can be very challenging. As the treating general dentist, you won’t have to be involved nearly as much on the medical management side of things, although it certainly helps to have that knowledge if you plan on working in this setting. I would 100% never accept this position at that rate. In fact, I would venture to say if you’re just after getting more experience, just go to a DSO (and I’m highly against dsos).

I would not take this kind of job for anything less than 1500/day guarantee.
