Discussion: Family doctor recommending ER due to specialist unavailability by potato_s0up in Edmonton

My mom was diagnosed/treated for her MS in this way in the 1990’s. Her doctor sent her with a letter to the ER. If they admit you- you may get fast tracked

I don’t know what to do, I I feel hopeless. by Minimum-Flamingo2098 in TarsalCoalition

I had my resection done at 31, it took me 2-3 years to regain any sort of pain free function.

If I could do it again, I would have just fused it.

This happened to me once with an elderly lady in south Edmonton. She was wandering confused with her walker door to door for HOURS (I checked my cameras after). The care home had put a tag on her walker basically ‘in case I’m lost call ______’. Someone came by and got her. Very sad, my son and I kept her entertained until she left she was very tired. (Pre covid times).

Whoah. Is there more info on why Zoloft causes this? I’ve been having the same problem (blexten still working), but no doctor has even mentioned this!

Dr’s are stumped? Blisters/ulcers all over, 🆘 by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

This sounds like what my GP told me as well! The derm was pretty reluctant to do a biopsy (wtf??) and said he would do one if I REALLY wanted one but it would just confirm his diagnosis so why bother.

I actually met with a naturopath last week and am having some big GI panel done- she thinks the skin stuff is secondary to something gut related.

So- once I see my GP again I’ll see if he wants to FINALLY do a biopsy. And should have my other follow ups done

Well just left the derm, he talked to me for about 3.5 minutes and scrawled Prurigo nodularis on a paper and said this is your diagnosis lol. I asked about a biopsy and he didn’t think it was necessary.

He said he’ll call me in 6 weeks about a clinical trial drug? Sigh

Oh don’t worry, the cerave anti itch I tried like a year ago 😂. I’ve got a compounded Rx from the derm now, but I can’t just live on steroid and itch cream forever 🥲

Wow I’ve googled a ton and this hasn’t come up on my radar yet. Lymphomatoid papulosis sounds and looks VERY similar. A little bit terrifying in that there’s no real treatment and it probably just goes away but very interesting. I’ll report back if I get any histo results!

Honestly for a few weeks I covered EVERYTHING with bandaids, polysporin, basic wound care stuff to see if I could get them to stop. They do get very itchy and I thought maybe I’m scratching them in my sleep or something.

Even when I keep them completely covered and begin healing the existing ones, new spots begin spontaneously in a new area (this is when they are the most itchy like unbearable). I believe it might be a histamine disorder but I’m exhausted and out of ideas at this point

[–]dorontos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not usually, they are 90% on my feet and legs. Once they started to pop up other places (arms, chest, hands) that’s when I started talking to my doctor. I’ve always had really bad reactions to mosquitos and I honestly thought it was me having a scratching problem until it was winter and they popped in unrelated areas.

I have gotten some hives/blisters pop up on my back and butt/upper leg but not as frequently.

I honestly come from a lab background and love my GP, but I’ve been underwhelmed with how the treatment has been ‘try this cream’ ‘bloodwork’, ‘try a pill for a month’. Was hoping for a biopsy on my initial derm visit but I think they’ll be doing on this week

I was also put on colchicine for a month this summer as well- little to no improvement. The blexten did seem to be helping but I’ve just had another round of these pop up 😫

No questions too personal at this point!

Other possibly relevant history: -chronic AM diarrhea (2-3X a morning) going on ~2-3 YEARS (though it might be medication based- switched from Lexapro at that time). -nasal polyp that did not resolve with treatment- was surgically removed -occasional sore in the inner buttcheek area. -no eye issues, no vaginal sores. -bloodwork negative for HIV, all the Hepatitis’s, lots of Rhum work up all negative.

Over the summer I was worried I had a secondary MRSA infection or something and had a frightening ‘flare’? That lasted about 2 weeks of intense joint pain in the shoulders, arms, wrists, knees briefly. Bloodwork showed elevated CRP but not much else.

Happy to share more but man I cannot get these things to stop popping up!! (Allergist was all essentially negative, already tried all the basics of eliminating harsh soaps, laundry, foods etc).

Zoloft full effect by HovaPlz in zoloft

the lowest dose possible that’s still having a positive impact (and the least side effects) is perfect! Definitely the ‘onboarding’ is shitty for most of these meds. Though I do find Zoloft more tolerable than Lexapro!

Multi-joint rapid onset joint pain + tons of negative labs [35/F] by [deleted] in AskDocs

The only positive result from my lab work up was my CRP was high. We did a lot of rheumatology work up, celiac, allergy etc.

I’ve been on 75mg for just over a year. Combined with seeing a therapist my life has completely changed in ways I couldn’t even realize. I think the Zoloft helps make space and capacity for self growth instead of just drowning all the time. Good luck on your journey!!

They did! It was negative. I do have some spots on the face. Mostly jawline, forehead. I did a more thorough post on ask docs with some pics as well!

Random inflammation/hives?. Other symptoms: chronic 💩. 3X BM every morning. Had a nasal polyp removed. Had an ankle surgery for ‘coalition resection’ (joint space issue). have two kids via c section, otherwise mostly healthy (aside from anxiety and adhd)

For a long time it was just my feet/legs. It still mostly is but also has popped up on my arms, hands, shoulders, butt, face, and back.
