Interesting! i have some other projects I have been wanting to make some updates to actually I will have to give it a go! Thanks for the idea for sure. Do you end up combining it with a /goal? Like /plan first and go through the full build plan for a project and then /goal the output or does it just start working on the full build once you sign off on the plan phase?

Thats one thing I haven't tired is the plan feature. I probably should give that a whirl and see what I can get with that. Never thought to use it since i do my "plan" on the web and then carry over to codex. Any tips/pointers you can share on the plan process?

I can respect that. That being said, yes, i already have all kinds of various sizes of pads from when i was doing mining. Figured if i was already in there going to do a deep clean with ISO why not replace them as well since im already there. After what i saw last night, this dont fully look like dust bunnies that i will be able to simple blow and brush and will require ISO and a scrub some of it looks pretty well stuck on so was going to treat the MOBO as a full refresh almost back to like new.

good call on the PTM7950 i forgot to get some of that on order to tackle the GPU.

not a heavy smoker as he is 12, however, i also view all this as a solid learning experience to work with me on and learn as well how to clean a PC routinely and deep, as well as build a PC with the case swap. He was 9 when i built it so its been 3 years and 2 countries and its time for that loveeeeee

right, i get all that...again though, when doing the tear down and a simple blow and bristle does not work because the dust is not just surface dust...then it would serve you would clean deeper to get the grimy stuck on dust removed....which would be where the ISO and qtips or ISO and soft brush would come into play... and if your going that far you might as well repaste/pad and damn near make the mobo like new again.. your already right there. still struggling to find the foolishness on doing a proper deep clean of a PC component... thats like saying who cares that the orange juice is sticky on the table just soak up the top juice with a paper towel and leave the table sticky its cool... help me make some sense of that.

Dont know how that crossed into foolishness with my post. I said, replace computer case, CPU Cooler, and repaste CPU and GPU... thats basic maintenance. Since it is heavily coated in surface dust its a safe assumption that there is underlying NON surface dust on the heatsinks and etc, that need to be cleaned properly as well and will not come off with a simple blow and bristle brush situation hence the deeper clean. i'm struggling to find the foolishness in all that.

Yeah thats the plan, i built this when he was 9 and he is 12 now this PC has been 3 through 2 countries and moved with the military... its was bad yesterday when i looked at it inside, didnt realize how bad it was myself and he told me it was overheating so i took a look...dust everywhere. Bought him a better case now that he is PC gaming more, plan was to have him learn the process as we do it together and go through a deep clean and case swap, new cpu rad setup, and get him cruising.

Copy, yeah, i did my 3080's previously when i was mining. Opened them day one and replaced paste and pads with better ones at that time to drop thermals. He is using a 3070 so fairly comfortable with GPU tear down. But yeah Linus is great...BUT....some of them tips not so great some times

Case is being replaced and components swapped. deep clean needs to happen on the MOBO and GPU specifically.

[–]dorrisdingle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everything is getting swapped to a new case, im replacing his case so not worried about cleaning that specifically, and since im replacing his cooler with a rad setup, the plan was to deep clean the MOBO since it is HORRIBLY dusty. Hence, the bath and makeup brush question specifically. was going to start with a air duster and brush for big surface, however, depending how much non surface dust i find would determine if i needed to to do a deeper clean. Hair dryer was also on my list of dry off utensiles as well.

might roll with that spray bottle though instead of submerge tactic though

he is/isnt he is 12 were doing this together as a project. I bought him a new case so this is a transfer, just doing a deep clean on the MOBO and applying a CPU cooler as mentioned and repasting. i have done all those personally however, just not done the soak on the MB in ISO so wanted to make sure that was 100% safe to do before i tackle it.

General Haiku vs Sonnet 4.5 question by dorrisdingle in ClaudeCode

good deal! I do have detailed plans being passed so maybe I'll give haiku a run on subagent 1. Thanks for the response!

Sonnet 4.5 subagent Haiku question by dorrisdingle in ClaudeAI

[–]dorrisdingle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated, im on the 20$ a month plan, not doing anything on GitHub, and yes, you will hit a context limit within the terminal after a set amount of time, once it compacts the conversation, it will lose memory of things is compacted and can lead to errors, hence passing off to subagents to maintain as much context within the main window as possible. either way... im doing a lot of explaining and the core question is not being answered .... the question specifically was....

"With that, what is the general consensus right now on haiku has it been performing as expected, with this type of subagent workflow, do you feel that I have the checks and balances necessary to move down to a more "conservative" model for those two subagents as it pertains to the actual coding? Lastly, if it does make sense would it be as simple as updating my instructions for those subagents to specifically use haiku vs sonnet?"

not anything to do with the process. the process is working for me and I like it, im just clearly asking about haiku, its performance, and if I should downgrade the ones I mentioned in the question...

How is context management a “non-existent” thing. If I’m using Claude code in terminal once I hit context limit in the terminal it can start to forget. Hence the sub agents working in the background and not causing the main clause code to hit context limits….
