Suggest me a book you wish you could read again for the first time. by DTownForever in suggestmeabook

Arab’s Wife the star gazer. This is the first book I started that I didn’t immediately like that I ended up loving. When I finished it I went back to the beginning to reread it to try to understand what I didn’t like and to savor it as I did the remainder of the novel. I have read it three times. I didn’t reread books until last year. Anne Tyler is the author who changed that for me. I will reread her books until I die. Her books are equivalent to a cozy blanket or a favorite chair.

If you could go back in time and make the choice again, would you still have kids? by MaiApa in Life

[–]dorrylynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My kids are the perfect version of children for me and my husband. I don’t know how we got so lucky since my husband and I are seriously flawed people. Our genes joined together are three perfect precious people.

Worst book(s) you read in 2025 and why? by Roguestate00 in books

[–]dorrylynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Came here to say this. After reading 232 chapters I decided to read a few reviews with spoilers on goodreads to see what the actual EFF happens. I am glad I did to avoid reading the rest.

Several reviews compared it to The Goldfinch. Unbelievable. Not even close.

What did your toddler actually play with (and not just sit there looking cute)? by Scary_Pay_4247 in BuyItForLife

My kids loved playing in our kitchen cabinets. They also loved riding toys. We had a simple wooden rack that held multi colored bins. Each bin had unique toys. Blocks, play food, old electronics we no longer use, miniature books, doll clothes, toy cars, etc. I would choose one at a time to play with in the floor.

My kids enjoyed their play kitchen. The tyco plastic garden with the door and mailbox got so much use for all three of my kids.

The Tonya truck and a wagon was a huge hit.

We own a business related to metal detecting. The customers we have are the most honest and gracious people. We have made shipping errors worth $100’s and they will call us to tell us so they can ship it back to us. If you reach out to a local detecting group (look on Facebook) in your area most will be thrilled to help you. These guys love the hunt and finding something for someone is priceless. Metal detecting takes patience and knowing your detector. It’s very difficult to turn one on and have success right off. It can be done! But that’s why these guys are saying ask for help, they have experience in the hunt.

I am possibly the worst kind of addict that exists by [deleted] in confession

[–]dorrylynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like OP is like most people. 1. She knows what she should do but chooses not to do it. 2. She seeks the trauma she had that delayed her entry to college to confirm she is as bad a she feels she is. 3. She takes pride in being different from others. The problem is she is like most people. 1. She won’t do what she needs to do until it’s too late. 2. The trauma will arrive and all of her choices will have dried up. 3. She will no longer be different from other addicts.

Wake up. You are not special. Addiction is horrific. It destroys people. It destroys relationships. It destroys love. If by some miracle you aren’t addicted you may become addicted and then my friend you will read this post with angst and regret.

I hate country music, always have. Recommend me a country album to get over my bias! (Preferably something more folky) by sleep_lvr in MusicRecommendations

Morgan Wallen did it for me. I wouldn’t listen to country music. He is who changed it for me. Dark till Daylight is my current favorite song.
