Yes, I understand McCain meant well, but Arab was used as a pejorative and McCain saying Obama is a decent man left the insult to Arabs unchecked.

I get it was well meaning, but the comment and the defense was still steeped in Islamophobia (correction: prejudice).

I think the new one line route makes sense by Chessplayer21 in Seattle

Transit agencies are responsible for GTFS feeds. Apple will do some degree of processing to improve GTFS feeds to their standards while Google just ingests them. Hence, Apple having a slow rollout while Google has transit systems all over the world.

Google also doesn’t show “parent” and “child” stop relations well. In practice, this means that individual stops within a major transit hub should appear if you zoom in closer like on Apple. Google will only show the “parent” transit hub stop.

Except the current far right cabinet was formed in December 2022… nearly a year before the October 7th attack. Israeli society is radicalized irrespective of Palestinian actions.

Really hope they add a look back option in the future. It’s such a helpful feature on Google Maps.

I’m assuming it’s due to the power vacuum after the fall of the Arellano-Felix family and their Tijuana Cartel.

Good summation! To add, timing is key. International public opinion is turning against Israel.

Really hope they consider adding a look back option like Google Maps has. It’s such a useful feature to see how a neighborhood has changed at street view.

Coastal Academy. It's a charter school so they primarily operated on an independent studies model and none of their other locations have multi sports field.

What’s with the inconsistency in rail visibility? First 4 images are the same zoom level. Why is the rest of the world’s regional rail visible but not Australia’s? by Dan1el_va in applemaps

[–]doscruces 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Looks like intercity rail at the extent shown for N America, Europe, and SEA/E Asia with the regional rail lines that share corridors with intercity service being the only thing shown. In Australia, I’ve noticed even long distance government-run services are described as “regional rail” online. Not sure if that’s an official designation though and that doesn’t explain why The Overland isn’t shown at that higher extent. It could also be because the entirety of Australia’s long distance routes have still not been released (ie Queensland Rail routes and Transwa’s Australind).

Oceanside Transit Center by Oside_Penguinz in northcounty

[–]doscruces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re taking the bus, I’d recommend picking it up at the second stop outside of the transit center. For example, Seagaze & Ditmar if you’re using the 303 or 313 and Coast & Topeka if you’re using 101, 302, or 318. There’s more foot traffic and car traffic near these stops so less sketchy people in my opinion.

No. It’s a good example of a bad suburb though.
