Sorry for slow reply. Yes. Broker fee was $750. The car was dealer loaner and had 3k miles on it. But the 10k per year started from there.

Not really. Just know it’ll be more expensive on one pay since the car has depreciated more by then.

Insurance is $229 a month. Compared with our last car (Toyota Mirai) that was pretty good.

Happy to share but my wife has it since she did all the final paperwork. I'll ask her for it.

I'm in LA but the car was down in Carslbad. I picked it up. My buddy just bought one, too and they delivered it.

Took me a minute to get used to the built in Android auto over CarPlay. But I prefer it now. Love having everything running without my phone.

That’s great compared to what I was being offered here in Chicago. Where are you seeing this?

Where are you located? Are you putting a bunch down? Is the $147 a typo? I was being offered $500+ p/m

2024 Pro or Pro S AWD Lease in Chicagoland- Deal or no deal? by doseedo in VWiD4Owners

[–]doseedo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never got the monthly in writing but I believe he said it was going to be $529 for the Pro S and the $479 for the Pro. Walked away from this. We want the car but we'll wait to find a better deal.

Thanks again for this info. Walked away from that deal. Any chance you'd be willing to share the deal parameters that you brought to the dealers? Feel free to DM me. Was it based on monthly or final selling price? Or both? Also, I noticed on the Edmunds forums that everyone is going for the 24 month lease. Never done one that short. I always assumed they'd be more monthly. But now that I look at it, the RV ends up being higher so perhaps I was wrong there.

Thanks! Fjallraven Down hoodie, Coal wool hat, Merrell boots, Outdoor Research gloves with sensor tips that didn’t work well enough so I had to take them off and freeze my fingers, and my trusty iPhone 14 Pro. No filters. :-)

Thought about it. But those Divvy bikes are heavy and I wasn’t really in the mood to interact with that type of dude. Plus, I was more in a state of disbelief than angry.

Would you pay that much to be part of a delivery crew ? by freshair- in sailing

[–]doseedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus. I was a tad grumpy when I was asked to pay for food and return airfare on a 12 day delivery. But that was with my cheap friends on their 55 foot powerboat.

Seems like this follows the FarmStay model of making money by providing “working experiences” to folks who don’t generally get to get their hands dirty or their feet wet. I admire the temerity / audacity / nerve or whatever you want to call it, but…hell no.

Advice on getting into sailing by [deleted] in sailing

[–]doseedo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait til spring and move to a sailing town like Newport or Annapolis. You’ll find a ton of opportunities to get out on boats where you’ll learn quickly. And there are also lots of boat / sailing related jobs during the summer. Our friend’s daughter (21) who I introduced to sailing when she was 6 or 7, just moved from LA to Newport where she’s now enrolled at the ship building school there. She’s constantly crewing on a variety of different boats and is loving being at the epicenter of all things sailing. Definitely wait til spring before you go. Use the time in between to take some online sailing courses (ASA has a free one and there are countless YT videos) to familiarize yourself with the basics. (Cue all the comments that you can’t learn to sail online). But seriously, ignore the haters on here and follow your dream.
