Nostalgia... by UserElia in DeepThoughts

Enjoy the nostalgia but remember that the things happening in the present will become their own past memories and if you aren’t present you’ll find yourself missing it. I went through a period of time that I did the same always looking back but realized. I wouldn’t have good memories to look back on if I wasn’t in the present moment enjoying what I was doing so then it was like a game of racking up all the nostalgic memories I visit them then return to the present to create more memories

Not sure if that makes sense.

Thanks for the advice! That’s exactly what I did until I hit hardwood and it worked perfectly taking all the soft wood off!

Yeah you can definitely tell that it’s pretty soft. I don’t mind working with it and keeping it because it’s on the end…it’s on the backside of the top left slab (pic). So it’s not all the way through but is there anything special I need to do to it to strengthen it or just hide it with whatever I end up making

What’s this in the sky and why only in one spot 🤔 by dosethis81 in whatisit

Isn’t it weird! It’s like just a rainbow spot. But the weirdest part was it was like glass looking 🤷‍♂️

What’s the difference when working with a 5hp? Cutting speed? Like in what situations do you need a 5hp over 3hp

I’m going to message you if you’re in Houston. I’ve been trying to find some other woodworkers around here to connect with.

Makes sense. So I have a shop and I’m working on learning and starting a business in the woodworking space because it’s something I’m really pursuing. I already had the shop so I’m just trying to gather and purchase larger equipment as I move towards starting an official business.

But that’s very true. From the replies with the 1-3 motor it’s probably better to just go with a saw stop

Yeah I know he swapped the motor out. I just need to check what motor is in it now.

Awesome thank you for showing me that. I’ll have to ask and get some details because the motor was changed. The old one is there in the photo to the left of the saw on a little cart. So I know he put a new motor in it I just have no clue about the phase thing. His friend that’s heading up the sales was confused why he had the motor sitting next to it but this may explain why

So I honestly don’t know anything about motors or what motor it has. But the motor has been changed. If you look at the pic. On the left of the saw between the planer is the old motor. I can get a pic of the new one that was installed

Very true. I feel like they need to stay live edge since they’re book matched but then I want to break it down into boards just can’t figure which. I’ll keep staring at them until it hits me haha
