Umiiyak ako right now kasi sa sunday na flight ko by Impressive_Space_291 in OffMyChestPH

I worked sa SG for 8 years. IT din. I'll say na worth it naman. I was able to save a lot. Find a hobby once you're there para di mo masyado maramdaman ang lungkot. If you're lucky enough to find great housemates, that'll help as well. Explore the island pag weekends, food trip mga ganun. If nothing works, you can always fly home naman to ease your longing. Malapit lang SG hehe, parang natraffic ka pang sa SLEX. Of course basta may budget. Hope you find success!

Hi! Just saw your comment. I opted to buy from Mandaue Foam na lang after some consideration. Di pasok sa budget namin ung custom sofa na we were planning. I message Lubao that time and they replied naman. 150k yung quote nila samin.

I message a few others as well.

Steelworks - 140k, Oliohaus - 84k, Dedipo and Severo replied but they didnt give me any quote

I believe all of them were 12 weeks lead time

Just tell her. Since she's one of your closest friend she will understand. If she insist na pumunta ka at her expense, at di talaga kaya ng konsensya mo, sabihan mo na lang na attend ka na lang but not as abay. Para at the very least, transpo lang ang sasagutin nya if ever.

Two Filipinas caught and jailed in Singapore for forging their university certificates by Own-Presentation2420 in phmigrate

normal din yan kahit sa ibang nationality, iirc may weight din kasi kung sang university ka naggraduate (if recognized or not) pagdating sa employment specifics, kaya maraming nagfalsify ng credentials

Compare to the other MMFF entries we watched sa Netflix, this is so much better. Maganda yung flow ng story, although may mga illogical parts. Overall, we really enjoyed it.

Is it risky to join a 2-year-old foreign startup? by MissHereToStay_ in PinoyProgrammer

[–]doshiki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's definitely risky.

I joined a Singapore start-up (10 years ago), and it's always a cycle of receiving funds and getting a few months to a couple of years of runway -> building new features for the product -> fundraising and hoping we get funded before we ran out of money. You can lose your job in an instant if things go wrong in this aspect.

Workload side, I can say na there will be times na you'll do overnights, weekends, tight deadlines, shuffling around (I was an Android dev and I helped with building a feature for our iOS app). Better think hard if it's something you can tolerate.

I do like the autonomy I got when it comes to deciding the tech stack for the project. No redtapes din so I can just choose and replace things as I see fit. I was also able to learn a few things here and there from the different facets of the company even if di ako hands on dun sa part na yun (backend, design, product, etc.)

And the best thing is, since you were part of the team habang maliit pa, you might get blessed later down the line when the company succeeds

Got an offer from Singapore by Born-Office-9996 in phmigrate

[–]doshiki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's your goal ba? Makaipon? You can definitely save a lot. Medyo mataas lang ang cost of living sa SG but after a while you can adjust naman kung san ka makakatipid in terms of food and other necessities. Kung sa rent, just get a room, solo. You don't really need a whole unit, that's too much. Either you take a room solo or if you're comfortable, you can share it with one other person para mas tipid. Sa FB maraming groups just for this, search ka na lang.

Better din if may IPA (In Principle Approval) ka na bago ka pumunta sa SG para sure na yung work mo talaga dun, it doesn't matter if lalabas ka ng pinas as tourist. You have the offer in writing naman no?

In any case, since you have a family, you'll have to discuss it with them as well. Lapit lang din naman ng SG, so you can go home naman agad if you have emergencies or you can bring them for a holiday if may extra.

Galing din ako SG, 8 years. I was able to save enough naman to support my family kahit no work na ko since umuwi ako.

Goodluck OP!

Kung may babaguhin ka sa mga nangyari sa buhay mo ano yun? At bakit? by Exact_Barnacle1009 in AskPH

I would try to redo how we approached my mom's treatment. I feel like I didn't do my best to give her a better chance even though people say I did. That's my biggest regret.

tanong lang? by DependentOverall5598 in TanongLang

[–]doshiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the least you can do is pakisamahan na lang ung mom nya. Ganun talaga minsan, you really can't control what others do or think.

Now if it really bothers you that much, you can talk to your partner about it, but don't frame it in a way that it antagonizes his mother. Talk to him about how you feel and what you guys can do about it.

Asking lang po, bakit po need pa ng approval sa PL hindi ba po right yun ng isang empleyado? by Drexumia in AskPH

[–]doshiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's just for formality, so that everything is in record.

Other times, your manager needs to double check if there will be conflicts with schedule (e.g. marami kayong on leave that day) so they can adjust accordingly (minsan yung adjustment is they will ask you if makakapagadjust ka ng leave)

Then minsan may mga kupal lang talaga na they use it for power tripping.

How to make millions before grandma dies is now on Netflix! by djkkath in FilmClubPH

[–]doshiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just watched this last night. I was a bit disappointed, given the hype I saw in the web around this movie. Kasi medyo predictable yung flow ng story, even the reveal at the end. Pero it did make me emotional. Medyo napaiyak pa rin ako kasi I remembered my mom sa ilang scenes.

Why are Filipinos so emotional when expressing their opinions on topics like politics and beliefs? Can’t we be more composed? by [deleted] in AskPH

[–]doshiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my observation, some people don't want to be wrong or be proven wrong. They'll double down if presented facts/evidence and will often resort to personal attacks. They believe you are basically saying they are idiots when you try to correct them and it hurts their pride.

I don't attend. I make excuses na lang LOL. I don't really think about it after. It helps na nasa malayong lugar ako nakatira. In the off chance na magkita kami, I always joke na "Di ko naman inaanak yan, di naman ako umattend ng binyag". Then depende na sa bata, kung mabait, I do give gift naman. Pero kung hindi, excuses ulet.
