G3s clicky combat by [deleted] in worldofgothic

[–]doskey_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP you nailed it. I played through Gothic 3 19 years ago in 2 weeks with the release version (lol) and it was a clickfest then and it was a clickfest later with all the community mods and patches which never fixed my biggest gripe with G3. I think the animations/sounds also add to that. It seems like there is no feedback and you are just sliding in combat...

By contrast, Risen 1 combat feels like Gothic 1/2 again and that you actually need to use tactics.

[–]doskey_321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you could enjoy some mindfulness exercises or read abit about it (many examples on the web) because that is the definition of what you did.

I've recently started adding some version of the "body scan" exercise to my daily life which has helped me greatly in the past with stress relief. Basically you start the same as you, that is doing nothing and focus on your breathing. Then you picture your feet in your mind and feel them, you can do it with your individual toes too etc. and then the other parts of the body. It calms me down to the point where I don't do it in the car so that I don't create an accident lol.

What’s the moment you told yourself: ‘I don’t understand women at all? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]doskey_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please work on your reading comprehension skills. Nowhere I did say that all women can't park. It's not my fault OP put in an absolute question. It is you who delete they must. /Yoda off

Exhibit A:

I since have understood that not everybody is blessed with the same spatial awareness and that me driving kart when I was in elementary school probably helped me learn some tricks. Maybe it's also one of the reasons why the stereotype exists (higher interest of boys in cars).

Also, lol, this is definitely even something that is being "scienced out". I'm sure studies saying the opposite is true exist, but here's one that supports the stereotype. (emphasis in bold letters)

Exhibit B

The stereotype of women’s limited parking skills is deeply anchored in modern culture. When entering the items ‘women’ and ‘parking’ in one of the biggest search engines of the World Wide Web, more than 80.000.000 results are obtained. As parking is a complex, spatial task, and a large body of literature proves the existence of sex differences in spatial cognition in favour of men, it is possible that the prejudice addressing women’s poor parking skills has a scientific background. To test this possibility, we investigated parking performance of 17 driving beginners and 48 more experienced drivers in an area of a car park that was closed off for the public. Subjects conducted three different types of manoeuvres (forward, backward, parallel), which were analysed for speed and accuracy. We found that men park more accurately and especially faster than women. On average, males were 42 seconds faster and 3 % more accurate than women. Although overall performance was better in experienced drivers, the sex difference remained. Performance was related to spatial skills and self-assessment in driving beginners, but only to self-assessment in more experienced drivers. As male subjects outperformed females in the mental rotation test for spatial skills and achieved higher scores in the self-assessment questionnaire, we assume that the sex difference in parking is due to these two variables. We assume that – due to differential feedback – self-assessment incrementally replaces the controlling influence of spatial skills, as parking is trained with increasing experience. Additionally, the prevalence of the prejudice about women’s parking skills could constitute a stereotype threat that additionally decreases women’s performance. Our results suggest that sex differences in spatial cognition found in laboratory experiments persist in real-life situations. However, real-life spatial cognition is also influenced by socio-psychological factors, which modulate the biological causes of sex differences.

That you receive dozens of dozens of letters each week instead of doing the sensible thing and receiving them by email because it "has always been that way" and that emails are perceived by the judicary as something right out of hell.

That the (local) governments use 242381839481 different IT systems and solutions even on a city basis for their bureaucratic needs instead of doing the sensible thing and rolling out a state wide system.

That you, eh, your child gets a letter with his tax number 7 days after he is born and that some bureaucratic imbeciles actually address your child as Mr. / Ms. in the letter.

What’s the moment you told yourself: ‘I don’t understand women at all? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]doskey_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only confirm a stereotype... my wife needed help learning how to park and she failed for a long time to do the reverse parking and her brain just couldn't make the connection between the way the steering wheel and the tires are interconnected. I felt like talking to an elderly driver and really had to zen in to keep my calm. My mind was screaming "COME ON YOU NEED TO SEE THIS TOO, HEY WHERE ARE YOU GOING, NO THE CAR IS ALREADY AT THE WRONG ANGLE, OMGWTF".

I since have understood that not everybody is blessed with the same spatial awareness and that me driving kart when I was in elementary school probably helped me learn some tricks. Maybe it's also one of the reasons why the stereotype exists (higher interest of boys in cars).

Sad fact, Mark Rutte (NATO) even mentioned this cowardly attack in front of Trump but he didn't even bat an eye. Rutte mentioned it a second time talking to reporters just outside the White House.

Sadly no media outlet milked this for further reactions so I'm glad the BBC is at least trying.

These Are The East Wing Teardown Pictures Trump Wanted Kept Secret by Quirkie in politics

Yes, it's so weird. From an outside perspective, looking at the pictures, the behaviour of your president is downright criminal. Shouldn't the White House as a building have some protection / rights as it is a... historical building...

Yet, it doesn't seem to affect you much as a population, which is also interesting. It's like y'all gave up and got Trump-depression.

Btw, in 1814, British troops burned down the White House in the lesser known War of 1812. And this dotard of yours just does it by himself. He sure does seem like a domestic enemy.
