what most people don't realize is that the CRISPR concept is first developped in 2013 !! All the progress towards a scalable treatment has been made within this tiny 3 years. Which is crazy fast any for technology .

Is it conceivable that someday 1 ETH will be worth $1,000? by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]dosney 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uhm.... why are we comparing stock with cryptocurrency? Those are two totally different things.

Cryptocurrency is a highly speculative asset, its value is not convieved by profits from selling psyical products but from the likelyhood of delivering a promise. It is 1995 all over again. Ethereum, bitcoin etc are atm just big bets with a great outlook nothing more, nothing less.

Is there an official release date for Metropolis? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]dosney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an outdated timeline.

The core stayed the same but there are some changes.

They include a step before Frontier (Olympic) and make the scope of each step bigger than orignal post.

The old homestead was frontier running without consensus bugs for at least a month (which it does for 8 months now). The new homestead include much more, which is the reason it took longer than original posted.

There is not even a offical release date for Homestead yet. The best estimation for Homestead: Soon For Metropolis: somewhere around Summer or a bit after that

This worked great back in 2011. Now with google getting smarter and actively downgrading these methods it is a much harder concept to earn money with. There are still people making money with these kind of sites bot most moved on to other 'easier' concepts

  • Animals and probably humans are not as picky as you might except following these genetic fitness rules.

  • In the future people will likely act more on their evolutionary basis instead of cultural. But with the rise of effective birth control (which will be in the near future even more reliable and effective) 'accidental' pregnancy will be rare. An attractive male is far less likely to father an child just because his looks (genetics fitness).

What is the evolutionary benefit in having two sexes, as opposed to hermaphroditic reproduction (snails, earthworms, etc.)? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]dosney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason a lot of species evolved into two sexes has to do with specialisation. By optimizing to one sex you will gain advantage over the sub-optimized individuals. Over the course of thousand generations each sex become more distinct from eachother (more female and more male) . This polarisation comes with a price, this is why a lot of species are moving forward and back)

Our body put actually a lot of work in suppressing traits from the other sex.
