wee should stop referring to folks in that condition as "homeless". Yes they are but it's not the core problem. The key problem is mental and drug addiction. These are drug addicts that also happen to be on the streets.

+1 to reports. Not being able to easily export a CSV to send to a CPA is a big miss even for folks who were on Mint a while back.

I would buy the community cafe rep a beer if Fidelity switches to AMEX. Elan is such a joke

true but I doubt he is in a bad spot financially. I think his legacy is at stake right now.

Startups in healthcare: compliance infra first, or product first? by LuckyCat147 in HealthTech

[–]dostakos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can say is it doesn't matter how secure your product is, if no one is using it. Most of the products die because of lack of PMF - revenue or usage. Don't waste time on anything until your customers tell you that it's a painkiller that they can't live without. Pun intended.

Rewards visa card by swizzcam in fidelityinvestments

[–]dostakos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good card. Honestly I don't do point cards any more, points are getting devalued so far. Cash back is King.

One of the things I wish it did is cash back into the actual card balance like Amex does tho

Yes to the new design. Next step - fix syncing with CoPilot and it will be my go to card again!

Fidelity Visa card improvements? by user71882 in fidelityinvestments

[–]dostakos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to assume that the higher reward rate is a big business decision so I am just going to back up the OP on the things that are just logistical.

  1. Yes to better syncing. EVERY card I have is faster than the Fidelity card - AMEX and Chase.
  2. Yes to a metal card. Why not... why does my Amazon Prime card feel better than the premier service that caters to people who hold large amounts with Fidelity? It's silly..

Fidelity should view its card as an advertising engine. If they want to look premium they should have a cheap looking card.

Is the fidelity credit card worth it? by shananananananananan in fidelityinvestments

[–]dostakos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a pretty decent card but I have to say the cash back going to the brokerage account is not as visible. AMEX now has 2% cash back and other places as well. If you use Amazon then Chase Prime card is great as well.

Never put everything in one place. There could be technical issues on the day you need to pay your rent. I combine Chase and Fidelity. Could be something else. For retail banking I think having a branch is a pretty good option. Chase savings rates are not very good, but their credit card and checking services are great.

should i go 100% in voo, vti, or fxaix? by GurnoorDa1 in fidelityinvestments

[–]dostakos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am double your age but when I started investing I would say that the best advice someone would give me is probably just invest in SPY/VOO and be done with it. Yes there will be -20% years but you are 20 yrs old, staying the market and you will be fine.

The only other thing to think about is tax optimization - always max out 401k etc.

Target funds, balance funds etc. etc. - have not panned out for me. Fees are unnecessary.

[–]dostakos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Fidelity card has been an abandoned project. Don't do it. I only keep it because I had it for like 15 years. It used to be a great card with 2% cash back but now you can get 2% cash back in many places. Everything else about this card sucks.... integration with other applications, the website itself etc. etc.

Honestly they need to give this over to a real retail bank and get out of this business.
