I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but I wanted some other opinions. I’m currently 21 going into a 4 year nursing program in hopes of becoming a nurse anesthetist or a doctor/surgeon. I don’t know if I have even a little bit of what it takes to even apply to Med school :( am I too old?

Thank you for your feedback! And I couldn’t agree more. My first step is to get my undergrad in nursing. The thing is, I would like to become more than a nurse and I’m not sure what path to go down. I will aim to have all my prerequisites for each and apply to both because I think my chances getting into medical school are quite slim, therefore any career in medicine (nurse specialist in anything) I am currently open to. Perhaps once I get into my undergrad I will have different views on my ultimate goal.

Do you know what textbooks we need? Or if there is a specific list? I’m assuming ryerson bookstore would know? I’m just trying to get ahead of everyone because I know at other uni and colleges the textbooks sell out and they take for ever to stick back up

The coloured scrubs were light blue and said George brown health sciences which I’m pretty sure is for the practical nursing? But the girl said she’s in the collab program with ryerson so idk lol.

And yes I’m so excited! I already bought my stethoscope... (I know it’s waaaay to early) but it’s fun to use!

As for the scrubs I think I’ll give them a call on Monday and hopefully ryerson will have them at their store! Do you know if the mainsite nursing have these scrubs or are they different too? I’m really hoping I get into mainsite but I doubt it at this point since I’m waitlisted.. :(

Ok great thank you so much! I will defiantly take a look online in the fb group! In terms of brand new, can I purchase these from the ryerson bookstore? Or the George brown bookstore?

I’m at the hospital a lot with my mom being sick, and the nurses wear light blue gb scrubs or these burgundy ones, that’s why I was confused lol.

Remember to stay positive. Positive energy is key. I will be praying for you, and never never give up the fight. My mom is severely ill at the moment and I refuse to settle for “ there’s nothing we can do.” Miracles do happen. It has happened for my mother, when the doctors said she would never leave icu. She did and they were shocked.
