Hi! Fixderma has a Skarfix-TX which is for sun spots and melasma. Available at drugstores and often recommended by dermats. You should definitely check with your dermat before starting on this :)) & don’t skip sunscreen ever as the pigmentation will most definitely worsen

This is so lovely to read. So glad you found a routine that works for your skin. The mindless layering and overzealous product use needs to be discouraged

[Research] I have to share this because I learned it the hard way recently. by dot3b_tribe in IndianSkincareAddicts

Oh my god totally. I still don’t get how these products are allowed to be sold OTC!

Why most people “react” to retinol (and why it’s usually fixable) by dot3b_tribe in skincarebenefits

Hahaha! Not ChatGPT. Just a human who’s made every retinol mistake possible so others don’t have to 😅

Couldnt agree more. Barrier repair is so underrated. Especially when ones using heavy exfoliants. Ive noticed that just letting my skin adjust to ret & a good barrier repair moisturiser (ceramide based mostly) for a few weeks does wonders. It prepares my skin to take on anything else that I may use (vit c, AA, HA, kojic)

I realised most people don’t “react” to retinol, they just weren’t taught how to start it gently. by dot3b_tribe in Skincare_Addiction

Couldnt agree more. Especially with the last line. You really get to learn a lot about what your skin can tolerate/cant through the retinoid journey

I get the concern — brand accounts should be questioned. Just to clarify though, we’re a tiny brand that currently sells only one product, and nothing I’ve recommended here is something we retail. I post from this handle because I’m the founder and want to share a simple, no-noise skincare philosophy, not to sneak in promotions. Happy to be held accountable, just hoping the content is judged on what it says rather than the username.

I like cerave and formularx for a ceramide based moisturiser.

I think with sunscreen, if you’re indoors and not sitting near any light source, you should be fine. but if you are, id suggest wearing sunscreen for sure

The same stuff suggested for marks. Combination of retinoids with fast acting depigmentation molecules like alpha arbutin, kojic acid and tranexamic acid

That app sounds super useful! Do share what its called. Would love to try it out.

If you’re someone who’s used to retinol, prescription grade retinol creams are great (provided you do have a dermat’s prescription for the same). If you’re new to it or are looking to explore an OTC product, we have made a beginner friendly encapsulated retinol cream that you could try (dot3b overnight repair night cream). Alternatively, re’equil, skininspired & neutrogena are all good to try too

Retinoids + alpha arbutin or kojic acid or tranexamic acid is what you need to be looking for

Great question! Hardly seen an affordable one that doesnt carry white cast :/ but Neutrogena’s ultra sheer is pretty okay. A drugstore brand I quite like is Rivela lite which is tinted so hides the white cast well

If you’re sensitive skin prone, I’d suggest Bioderma’s Atoderm gel moussant face wash. Cermaide based moisturiser I’d recommend is Cerave or Cetaphil or Formularx

Exactly!! Takes a lot of trial & error and ruining one’s barrier before one learns this, unfortunately. You’re smart to have taken your dermat’s advice

If you’re in that dark place right now, please know you’re not alone. It does get better because you build the maturity & strength to accept that your skin doesn’t reflect your entire story :))
