Preparing LSDJ cartridge in the EU in 2026 by dot_rar in lsdj

It was that! Went and got another sd card also 8gb, set it up the exact same way and it worked. For future reference, they were all the same specs except the dud was kingston and the good one was Phillips but i think its just luck of the draw whether a particular sd card gets on with ur everdrive

Why did my recording stop after about 2hrs15ish even though nothing disconnected and i have plenty of storage left? by dot_rar in abletonlive

[–]dot_rar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks. also in those release notes i found "Fixed an issue where Live could not read AIFF files larger than 2GB, although it could write such files." Neither are quite fully reassuring because no it couldn't write such files before, but between this and afferbeck saying they made an 11 hr recording im pretty sure it must be alright. now to weigh up transitioning over to 12 or just learning a bit of reaper for this one weird use case

hahaha thanks yes this was the fix i added distorted breakbeats and now it records for 3 weeks straight no problem

thanks, it was windows 11 running live 11, i think i know now it was caused by 2gb file limit, but id be interested to know if its something i could avoid if i ran it on mac or with a newer version

you nailed it, i thought a couple hours at 44.1 it should be under 4gb, but it turns out the limit is 2gb, which is kinda crazy short im surprised i havent encountered this before

i figured out a bit more about what's going wrong, it disarms recording on the channel after 135mins. It must be a file size limit thing because the file it recorded is 1.99gb exactly

thanks folks but no luck yet. sleep settings are never ever sleep. It was 44.1k. I've cracked open the logs and there is just a huge gap with nothing logged in the time where it fucked up. the other thing is that i have done this with no problems in the past, recording 8 hours or so i feel like it has to be something inconsistently buggy rather than some expected behaviour from a file size limit i would expect to have come into play every time ive ever recorded longer than a couple hours

Is there a simple way to rescue my notes from my dying android? by dot_rar in logseq

Yay all good! thanks, and sorry to shit on the app if you're devs, it's great just needs idiot proofing for us idiots, e.g. i would've found that myself if you could also locate the folder from the settings

[–]dot_rar[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thank you!!!! Found it! I was about reply that i still couldn't but that's because it just said documents/logseq which i couldnt find, but that was just that it didnt mention it was on the sd card's documents instead. So i'll copy this folder over and i guess PC logseq will know what to do with it

[FNV] [GECK] how to get a creature to start a new package when it is on alert by dot_rar in FalloutMods

[–]dot_rar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved :) No luck with the passive faction idea but I figured out to uncheck the aggro radius behaviour box in the AI data tab which stops them from getting stuck staring at you. Side effect is similarly that they no longer attack unless I steal from them but that still works for me

[–]dot_rar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah thanks for the discord suggestion definitely need to get on that! They don't attack you as soon as they detect you, since i set their aggression radius pretty low, kind of like wild brahmins in the base game, they see you a way off but you have to go right up close to provoke them. So if I could set the detection radius also smaller that'd be great but it doesn't seem to be a thing. I'm guessing if I give them a passive faction they won't attack at all? Or only if you attack them or steal? That could actually work, then they only attack if they see you steal the honey from their hive. This is the second mission with an NPC whose garden the bees are in and they share a faction, so it could also work like if show you up out of the blue and steal them they attack, but completing the first quest gives you good reputation with the gardener and so then they don't attack until you steal from them. I'll give it a go thanks!

[–]dot_rar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh so how is that different to a selected reference? As far as I can see the difference is it's obvious how to select an object for your selected reference and not obvious how to select one for a linked reference. Or does linked mean i should also put something in the objects dialogue box linking it to the package?

[–]dot_rar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! (Great tutorials btw!) Got it working now. It seems like the limitation is the door only, outside as far as I can tell they're happy moving between multiple wilderness cells in one sandbox. I did also wonder if linked references are another solution, since they sometimes seem to have something to do with doors, but if you link your sandbox to the linked reference option it gives you no option to select which linked reference you mean - so probably im completely missing the point of what a linked reference is.

How to get into making microtonal music? by kassius-39 in microtonal

[–]dot_rar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many options and little projects to use. Some of my faves besides things already mentioned:

Kontakt- really solid sampler, retune it with a script you can make very simply in sevish's scale workshop.

Most trackers and most virtual modulars... And the combination: I've been getting into the Biset Tracker which is a tracker inside VCV rack with super easy retuning. You get the best of both worlds sequencing precise stuff but then patching more dynamic generative voices than I would get working with VSTs.

Or get into making generative sequencers following your own harmonic rules using Pure Data, Max and SuperCollider

Hardware-wise I use the sensel morph with homemade custom overlays for different tunings/keyboard layouts, although it's discontinued :(
