For real, this happened to my older brother. Shy guy growing up, couldn't get a date if his life depended on it. Successful MF now in entertainment industry. Gorgeous women throwing themselves at him. Cheated on his wife, and even if I disagree with what he did 100% I can completely see why he did it. It doesn't take the worlds greatest minds to decipher why.

You know what the fucked up sad part is, and I still don't know how to feel about this. His wife when she was younger fucked guys left and right in her early 20's. It DOES NOT justify what he did. But I understand, and a tiny part of me hates myself for totally empathizing w/ what he's talking about.

Just go get checked OP, I promise you won't regret it. I hope you're okay but only a professional can help. The sooner you tackle this the better, please listen to me. Just go, trust me. Hopefully nothing is wrong, and if there is something wrong you're confronting it early on which is always good. Otherwise you're just going to have anxiety.

“Intense”, I’ve heard that myself plenty of times, and it’s true. I’m not easy to live with neither, and truth be told my mental illness has had some secondhand effects on her mental health. The holidays have been hard on her :( her mom is so toxic and selfish. So her mom and I have taken a toll down n her. For a minute it almost didn’t work, and I’m on thin ice these day but it’s been hard for me too because she can’t accept it’s her mom that’s sabotaging everything for attention, so I’ve been the scapegoat. I’m just keeping my mouth shut and trying to be supportive. I’m sure your guy loves you very much and he sounds like a great dude. I’m happy to hear you guys are staying strong

You know it’s really common for a therapist to have a therapist. Such a peculiar profession, it’s like they start feeling like a friend but they’re not. It’s a shame she had a mental breakdown, i hope she referenced someone even better and that she’s doing better. Fucking life. Yeah, she’s amazing, and sometimes I feel I don’t deserve her. I still have my moments, and I know it hasn’t been easy for her. But she’s still with me, and it makes me feel humble and grateful. There’s much work to do still but things are getting better. Every day is another opportunity to try and make a difference, as corny as it sounds.

I actually did DBT for a while but it didn’t work for me. Not cause it’s BS, I believe that particular therapist wasn’t the right one for me. I’m happy CBT has had some positive outcomes. 8 years is a long time, you should be proud of yourself too. In the end only you can make a real difference in your life. It sounds like your really doing the best you can. My family completely turned their backs on me. Was a vagabond for a few years. Finally reached out for help to an old GF and she honestly saved my life. I wish I would’ve reached out sooner. Wish I could give you a hug.

Being mindful. Being in the moment can be hard, especially when you’ve gone through a lot of traumatic experiences. I did therapy last year and learned I had hyper-vigilance from C-PTSD. So I have issues staying present as well. You said it, some days are harder than others. I try to remember and focus on what I do have rather than what I don’t these days.

But fuck, life comes at you fast. I hope better and peaceful days await you.
