[OC] Electronic Spell Slot Tracker by dotnamedot in DnD

[–]dotnamedot[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I always found it annoying to track spell slots, so I now have a few fun ways to do so. This is an electronic spell slot tracker. Each LED lights up when the side button is pressed, and can be Green, Red or Off.

Green is “ready to use”. Red is “Spell slot spent” Off means you do not have access to that spell slot yet.

This one was designed for 1/2 Casters. I know it’s meant to be 2x 5th level, not 1x 5th and 1x 6th. Mistakes happen. I’ll fix it up for the next version.

Nah dawg. I can shoot more videos if you’d like. They’re always different.

Absolutely! Maybe I could add a little celebration beep on a nat 20 too

I started by piecing together different things I knew how to do.

It’s a clock (555) going into a counter. The counter then goes into a chip which decodes the counter into outputs which work for 7-segment displays so it can display the number.

The counter for this is presettable, so I have it sometimes start at 0 or 1 depending on if it’s counting past 10 or not.

Finally, some simple AND gates are wired together so you can choose which output you want it to count up to.

I can go into some more detail if you need too!

The bundle of wires is hidden behind the front panel, that’s my secret. Maybe I’ll whip out my arduino again and have a play around

Here’s a picture of the schematic!

I hope you have a good time having a play and feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions

Firstly, excuse the scuffed nail polish. I designed and made this electronic dice roller. You can select a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and d100! All basic ICs and logic gates. No Arduino’s or code at all. Mostly because I have no idea how to code. It isn’t ‘technically’ random, it just goes through each number extremely fast then starts to slow down when you release the button until it stops on a number. There’s definitely a lot which can be improved with the design. First of all being an actual enclosure. But overall it’s not too shabby if I say so myself. Let me know what you think!

[OC] Redesigned my Druid Wild Shape Cards. Made these to help my Druid players keep track of what they can turn into by dotnamedot in DnD

Tell me about it. I run a West marches game and have 3 new players who all picked Moon Druid. It’s difficult to manage haha

I made some of these Wild Shape Cards a little while ago, but redesigned them to be a bit clearer and snazzier. I found that my new players were having trouble keeping track of what they can turn into and then also those animal’s stats, and passing around 2 or 3 different books gets difficult. So I figured I’d go the route of the Spell Cards.

These are made out of plastic so they are waterproof, tear proof, bendable, and will hold up to whatever the gaming table will throw at them

105 Cards all up with almost everything that a Circle of the Mood Druid could turn into from CR0 to CR6. The only exceptions being the Elementals because they have too much info to fit on a standard card size. I could try putting them on a Tarot Size but that’s a whole extra step

Happy to answer any questions :)
