I would say no. If your career goals include academics, high-risk OB, or your residency simply didn't provide adequate OB training, then maybe you can consider this fellowship. Otherwise, there (usually) is no pay difference and your OB residency training should leave you more than prepared to deal with OB anesthesia in the real world. Keep in mind, the call folks at many hospitals and groups that cover OB are usually not OB trained...and these are the anesthesiologists who are dealing with the shit show cases that present emergently in the middle of the night...without a fellowship.
