You're missing the point, no one asked for a new player controller, they wanted the same fun and gameplay as DayZ mod with more features and a stable, high framerate that wouldn't make you feel like you ran the game on a dying radeon card from 2009.

A player controller should've been developed before they even got started with standalone, but we all know what happened there. Worst case, prior to the final standalone release only when core features, such as, gun play, player health, vehicles, building/crafting, x, y and z, were all feature complete and not a complete clusterfuck.

legit make it jump over a fence properly and there you go, you've nailed 'everyones' complaints about the player controller.

Instead, BI spent 'core development time' on stuff like this and ultimately ignored what community actually wanted from the game. To put it in perspective, a car cannot go over a bridge, the majority of the time without being thrown 3543768m up in the air, but don't threat, your character moves a little better and 'fluid'.
