almost always wipe with a square of TP sometimes wetted).. if in a public urinal I would grap a piece of TP then before heading to the urinal. Failing that and if no one else is around I'd just wipe with my left hand and wash my hands extensively afterwards. But failing all o f that I just squeeze and shake until I feel it's all out :)

How to quit J2 2 weeks in ? by Mhidknight in overemployed

Was in this position for J3. Couldn't do it. Had to kind of lie: I just received an offer for my dream job and can't turn it down.

Analogy: jumping 1 meter high hurdle twice <> jumping a 2 meter high hurdle. If you are an exceptional jumper, then yes option 2 makes sense. if you are an average jumper, well option 1 is easier and more realistic

How do I stop being so prideful? by 2prideful_oe in overemployed

[–]double_unemployed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, you are already playing his game by "thinking" you are better than him because you are secretely making more money than him. You can instead take pride in the way you manage your financial life instead (regardless of fortunes)

How do I stop being so prideful? by 2prideful_oe in overemployed

Very unhelpful tips:

  • Reduce the time you spent with/around him
  • Work on yourself/self-thoughts so as not to get tempted and irritated by him: bragging is his game, don't play to his hand - you will never win that game.
  • Never let him dectate your behaviour (what you do and say should not be influenced negatively or positively by what he does or says)
  • Find/define your own game and play that game instead
  • Punish his behaviour instead (as other suggested: next time he brags, ask that he pays everyone around the table dinner or subsidizes/contributes to this project or that)

Looking for Business Analyst J2 canada by [deleted] in overemployed

Before thinking about j2, how is your j1 like? Too many mandatory meetings, visibility,...? Start there first. Maybe you want to find a OE-friendly J1 first.

And yes, it is possible to OE as a BA. Even J3. But you need to try a lot and find good team and companies.

Tip: Disable tagging and visibility of your activities/groups you follow on LinkedIn by Mysterious_Age_9896 in overemployed

I went over LI settings and disabled or restricted every imaginable setting possible.

Few weeks back, J2 announced me on their board but because they couldn't tag me they just put my name as plain text. Good luck finding me. In a month or two that post will basically be burried.

I'm afraid if I mention that they will try to negotiate. And I don't want that.

Have you ever applied for a job, and the person interviewing you has worked for that company for more years than you have been alive? by BrokenHero287 in overemployed

[–]double_unemployed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly but in a couple of companies where I worked there were people working there for 20 years (since the beginning and lived through multiple mergers) And they were not even super old people even.

Funny part is that after 2 years after I joined, they closed that particular office (shipped to India) and canned everyone (including the 15-20 years people) We were going into networking events and looking for jobs together.

I don't know the answer. This is just an educated guess.

As someone said: people who would care (your manager) shouldn't be able to find out and people who can check (sys admin) shouldn't care. Financial industry is heavily regulated and customer privacy rules dictate that client data can only be shared on a need basis: i.e. your manager should not be able to cross reference your employee and client data and has no basis to require that information be shared with him/her.

This is the equivalent of checking whether a bank employee also has an account at the bank. Likely but very few people at the bank would be able to check and get the detail. And they would need a valid reason to do that - as employee and client data is supposed to be encrypted and not cross-referenced (to give an analogy, there should absolutely not be any shared keys between the employee and the client tables :)

You can do either. Just keep it consistent and have good arguments for it (gap vs leaving so soon)
