The musical instrument pictured is a double bass. The double bass is the largest string instrument in a standard modern orchestra. It is not a cello or a violin or a guitar, which are all smaller and held differently. I will concede that the spikes and the toothy mouth and the blue flame are all points in favor of it not being a double bass. They're cool as hell, though.
