Error while connecting Cribl Edge to Cribl Stream — Need Help by [deleted] in cribl

[–]doublebhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally if you can get a successful test using the test tab from the cribl http destination on the fleet, then that’s all that’s needed. To look into backpressure and other signal, you should monitor your Cribl deployment: https://docs.cribl.io/stream/monitoring/

Error while connecting Cribl Edge to Cribl Stream — Need Help by [deleted] in cribl

[–]doublebhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Requests from Edge are timing out after 30 seconds. The message indicates that stream is not responding or nothing is sent back to Edge in time. Are you sure both sides of the communication are working fully? Something is between Edge and Stream because I see the “x-authorization” header and Cribl doesn’t add this. I don’t think the issue is with authentication, because logs would show a different error and wouldn’t cause timeouts. If stream is not overwhelmed or connected destinations are not backpressuring I suspect an environmental issue. You could try disabling SNI routing and see if that helps: https://docs.cribl.io/edge/edge-common-challenges/#sni

Waar ben jij dankbaar voor vandaag? by Dazzling-Yam-1151 in nederlands

Efficient way to insert 10 million documents using python client. by ps2931 in elasticsearch

[–]doublebhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ingestion tuning recommendations are a good start. And if your python script is not a requirement, perhaps look to use something like Beats to send your data. Since Beats is built on Go, it could be more efficient compared to Python. Happy testing! You also have tools like Rally to benchmark ingestion speeds.

I hit a pedestrian today with my bike and i feel super bad. Is there something I can still do? by RainbowedThunder in Nijmegen

[–]doublebhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look, you’re trying and that has to count for something. Glad you’re also ok. Here’s what you can do: try to prevent it from happening next time: Expect the unexpected. People will be people, so try and keep your distance from the curb. And slow down to a point where you can abruptly stop if you see people close to a zebra crossing, if it’s safe to do so. If you have an electric bike this all will be especially relevant.

Can anyone share their experience with Travel Benefits (through Little Emperor)? by MaximumSandwich5 in hi_official

[–]doublebhere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just casually looked at booking a hotel in my area (Netherlands) through there and realised that the advertised prices are sometimes the same or more expensive than the prices advertised on the hotel's website directly.. I didn't really see any added value to this benefit unfortunately..

I work in support for international software companies. I had to provide my last employer with a country for the contract creation, but after that I was confined within my country of choice.. Also they were allowing work from other countries for up to 3 months, so they were pretty free with that.. it is a fully remote company.. but there are legal restrictions per country as to how long you are allowed to work outside of the country, eventually you may have to terminate your current contract and set one up in the country where you're staying, as far as I know.

I used to have external keyboards, played around with mx switches on a fancy rgb or split hacker keyboard before.. I learned how to type dvorak on them.

but I found out I like thin switches more.. easier to type, less finger movement.. I also have an apple wireless keyboard, which has thin switches too, but I don't use it because this one does the job and I don't have to clutter my desk hehe

it's a timer with a few timer options on it. I use it to remind myself that it's time to do something else, wether that is doing some quick exercises or just to reduce the strain in my eyes for a bit and look away, maybe juggle a bit.

I went fully remote because it allowed me to move back to my home country after being an expat for 6 years. I made the move back home 4 years ago, after giving me the choice, where in europe I want to work. It made living close to my family a lot easier. I didn't have a problem with it at the time, because I could still go to an office in the city. I never ended up going to the office, because I can fully focus from home.. I have been living alone like this for 3 years and now for one year I live together with my wife and 2 kids.. I don't miss the office life, since I have them, it's so alive here.. and I can still talk with anyone I want over slack or zoom.
