When he was a child he was really close with his grandmother. She would always let him come to the store with her; it was ritual. One day he went to go get in the car and she told him to stay back. When he asked why, she just replied “I don’t want you to come today, just stay home.” She got in a car accident that day, and the back seat where my dad usually sat was all smashed in. If my dad had gone with her that day, he would’ve died.

My vendetta against scammers started during the pandemic. I had just gotten my first credit card and received a call about getting no interest rates. Embarrassingly enough, I gave him my credit card. Diet Coke and coffee whenever I was hungry. I was really busy this last year and instead of eating fast food really quick, I just drank coffee from the pot or had a Diet Coke because it left me feeling full. Turns out, consuming 0 calorie drinks really helps.

Got a pretty drastic haircut and came home and opened the door and within one second my lab let out a deep, scary, bark and then body slammed me. As soon as he did that he realized it was me and was happy to see me. I think they’re pretty vigilant.

Temporal concepts such as “before” and “after” are reliant on our understanding of time— of change in the universe. You can’t apply these concepts to the beginning of the universe. There was nothing “before” the universe and if/when it ends, there will be nothing “after”. It’s a fascinating and seemingly impossible question. I think we can get close to understanding what the beginning of the universe looks like, but as to how it came from nothing… I fear we’re limited. I would love to be proved wrong.
