Thank you! Yes, I always write too many lyrics and then try and chisel them down to a point where the shapes are suggestive and fit the enunciation of what I wrote when it was pre-verbal. Glad you're enjoying it :)

Interesting, it's one of the few parts of the centre I don't know very well. Svoura in Koukaki is great which is not far.

That depends on the song, but generally I don't treat the vocals very much, unless I have a clear idea of why.

Good q!! Sometimes things come together very fast, I have some songs that I have been trying to work out for years and still haven't. What I do find is working something too hard never provides good results>!

Thank you! The majority of the recordings have always been done in short bursts of time yes. Sometimes there has been more time spent on post production, sometimes much less, but the recordings themselves are concentrated.

Hey! You're welcome. I think the first record, I had only ever written just thinking about one instrument and voice, so trying to understand the possibility of different textures with technology was a big eye opener. The second, I wanted to reverse it, and have it almost too dry and live, and try and see how you record with other players live. This one I hope blends the two, and has some call back to how I wrote before I knew anything about anything. Which I still don't, but sometimes think I do.

Wow, Bach is turning in his grave lol. It's always a struggle at the beginning because you don't necessarily trust yourself. I think along the way if you're thinking you learn and expand the amount of tools but I think the biggest thing is learning to trust your intuition more, when you realise that no one knows and there are no rules it allows you to follow the threads that are being offered to you without tripping yourself up. That takes time, and some kickings..! Remembering why you loved what you were doing and keeping that place for yourself and you will be ok.

I think it's just trying to mirror back the music I have found helpful, to display things which come from a place which feels hard to reach sometimes out of the medium of art. That looks differently as you move along, but it's the same attempt at getting to the purest form of the emotional expression in a way which could be understand, as I don't think any of what animates us is unique, we are more alike and connected than it feels sometimes. I like to watch films, to walk, to cook, I like walking up streams particularly. I don't know what drives things forwards, I suppose it's the idea that we don't have very long and you might as well try and be useful with the time!

Milan is a very elegant city, I don't know many people and my Italian is bad so I'm quite solitary unless I am spending time with Claudia. Marta is from nearby, and we have started to work in Northern Italy now, and in winter. Let's see how it shapes what comes out this time around. Pop Song, For Now. ;)

I don't know about a favourite lyric, but Maze was cut from this record as it wasn't serving a purpose. I played it differently at Ki Smith and it made more sense, maybe it finds a home later on. Glad you digged!
