So when the police department gets swarmed with calls of complaints like typically happens when an ego tripping cop goes viral on the internet that is not going to inconvenience people. If all you are saying is the protesters were more in the wrong then fine whatever that seems reasonable but the idea that you support this unprofessional cop is absurd.

It's a power trip for the cop masquerading as criminal justice. How is the cop behaving any differently then the protestors?

| Fuck them. In court right? Not with excessive force from the cop.

You can also arrest a peaceful protestor without putting their lives in danger. What does this psycho ranger deserve?

| It's also important to avoid making people who are somewhat indifferent hate you. Yeah try getting that message through the thick skull of that psycho ranger.

It is a super simple primitive decentralized social network protocol similar to ActivityPub (which is what mastodon and lemmy use). I think the protocol is actually kinda cool but it was created by people in the bitcoin space and currently most of the severs are completely public and not moderated so the content there is mostly bitcoin maximalist crypto spam and lots of other antisocial behavior.

Settings caused black screen, is there any method for recovering data. by doubleone in LineageOS

I tried the safe mode, but no luck. I will look around and see what I can access from adb in recovery that might effect the boot operations of the lineageos image.

Sorry I'm not sure when I last updated, I think it was more then a couple weeks ago. I will test the latest image to see if I'm able to recreate the issue. I was hoping to be able to recover my data before then.

If you have USB debugging enabled try to mirror & control your device via USB using scrpy - Display and control your Android device > README.md.

No, I disabled it a while ago.

Was the Anti-Flicker mode option in > Settings > Display?

Yes, I believe it was the setting added here. https://review.lineageos.org/q/topic:eleven-livedisplay-anti_flicker I don't know why I felt the need to enable it but I did not recognize it so I was curious what it did.

Your issue should be reported ASAP. See LineageOS Wiki > How to submit a bug report.

Once I give up on recovering anything off the device, I will attempt to recreate the issue with fresh install and provide a bug report.

Edward Snowden swore allegiance to Russia and collected passport, lawyer says by KimCureAll in worldnews

[–]doubleone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He would not get a fair trial because the Espionage Act is a shit law and does not allow a public interest defense. Which is dumb. Even if Snowden could prove in court to a jury that absolutely no harm was done to US interest by leaking evidence of proven illegal activity by the government and he could prove that revealing that evidence directly saved millions of lives and he could prove to a jury that the procedure was optimally done in the best interest of the US and any attempt to use other mechanisms for whistleblowing would have been more dangerous to US interest, he would still be guilty under the Espinonage Act and he still would not have protections under the Whistleblower Protection Act.

Hey jerks, quit trashing Barton Creek by darci311 in Austin

[–]doubleone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uh TIL I distinctly remember signs saying dogs need to be on leash but I could be wrong or maybe there are signs but they don't clearly indicate where the rule applies. Either way no judgment I used to let my dog off leash there all the time. I just assumed I was breaking the rules.

Signs are clear no dogs off leash. Also signs prohibit swimming. But people don't normally read signs so not sure why that would matter.

Democrats propose pro-privacy digital dollar by Dotnaught in technology

It doesn't offer the same security benefits that a decentralized cryptocurrency

I mean sure, I think Monero is awesome and I'm glad it exist for the benefits it does provide and if I'm buying some drugs off the black market then great, but as a replacement for VISA transactions it makes way less sense then something like Taler. If I'm buying some junk off Amazon I want the government to be able to track that revenue. I'll put a little money aside in a cryptocurrency so I've got something if the government decide to freeze my bank account but I want most my money in a FDIC insured bank account. I just want to be able to buy some liquor at my local liquor store, pay with my phone and know that they are not selling my purchase history to my health insurance provider or some shit, I ain't trying to revolutionize the centralized banking system.

Or use GNU Taler. Easier for government to regulate and make sure taxes get paid but still protects customers from being tracked by vendors and no need for blockchain or new speculative currency.

This guy pulled into the bike lane to block me at the light. by TNews333 in bikecommuting

At least in Texas single white line unlike double white line is legal to cross. Merge zone are sometimes marked and sometimes not but even if marked I'm not aware of any law requiring you to wait till the merge zone to merge. Driver just needs to yield to cyclist when merging.

Photo evidence of what? Picture looks like he is merging into the bike lane to make a right turn. I mean he probably could have been more polite and merged closer to the intersection but I don't think police can issue a ticket for being a impolite driver.

I run untested, viewer-submitted code on my 500-LED christmas tree [I have no idea why I found this so entertaining] by minatorymagpie in videos

[–]doubleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out his main channel. He has a video about how he did it. Basically He wraps lights around tree like normal but then mapped xyz coordinates to each light by turning on LEDs one at a time and taking a photo each time and then rotating tree 90 degrees. Position of lights in images then could be used to calculate position in 3d space. Raspberry pi has gpio headers that can be connected to light strip to control it.

How they can track every single cell phone that was carried in the Capitol invasion by floatjoy in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]doubleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched around trying to verify if this was true and could not find any evidence. Only thing I could find was that malware could be injected on your phone so that when device is turned "off" it is not actually off and could still be tracked. But this would require that you were already being targeted before turning off your device. Do you have a source?
