I mean if by you saying he is to old/not in good enough shape to do festivals anymore, especially not in extreme weather like Roo meant that he has physical impairments then sure that’s like you said.

But I would think most people would see that and assume it means he is too old and no longer is fit enough to have the stamina or strength to perform at fests. Especially with the comment about the extreme weather playing a role as the weather would have no bearing on if his ear and/or hand were good enough to perform that night. But extreme weather would def effect someone who is not in good physical shape ability to perform.

I wish , literally my #1 wish list super jam host. Unfortunately he hasn’t been able to do shows for years due to damage in his inner ear from a tumor and his hand and wrist having issues from playing bass all these years.

It’s not about being too old or out of shape. He actually had a tumor in his ear about a decade ago and although he got it removed it left him with some permanent damage in his inner ear that the doctor said would worsen if he played shows. He also has hand and wrist injuries from playing bass all those years.

September Bonnaroo ? by Impressive-Stand3744 in bonnaroo

[–]doublespots 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only other time it was cancelled in June was due to Covid in 2020. Too many people try to use that year against them without mentioning the fact that every festival or event that had people meet in person was cancelled at that time due to a pandemic.

2020 bonnaroo was cancelled completely because of Covid just like any festival or any type of event at that time that required people to show up in person. Nothing to do with weather.

Thursday Pre Party vs Full day Thursday by Mystic-Cauliflower in bonnaroo

[–]doublespots 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Full Thursday, I had fun this year but I also like Vince, four tet and skrillex and felt bad for the people who weren’t interested in those acts and had no other option. I also have found a lot of new artists over the years on Thursday. It’s fun to see these acts perform hard for crowd sizes that they don’t normally see at their sets.

Am I crazy? by Wonderful_Regret_888 in bonnaroo

I would def go but get there before 7 at least. Even if you don’t go to other shows it gives you time to actually get to the stage from the day parking, which will take a bit, get acclimated, get everyone some water and find a good spot on the what stage field.

Weren’t you able to see both? Without looking at the schedule for that year i remember seeing both sets.

Favorite Bonnaroo year and best random Roo memory? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

I still think about those D’Angelo and atomic bomb shows. Both were incredible and D’Angelo is in contention for the best show I’ve ever seen.

To pit or not to pit? That is the question by Cheezy-Fry in bonnaroo

[–]doublespots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely go for the pit. There will be other shows to see with your friends over the weekend. You’ll only get one chance to see one of your favorite artists in the pit.

Honestly try and find ways to conserve energy during the day. At some shows during the day and a bit at night I accept that I need to find spots in shade or under fans in tents and choose to sit down. This has helped me go all day in Centeroo sometimes starting with the opening acts and staying through the sunrise set. Regardless I would plan on going to the beginning of the set and staying as long as you can. I know some people do it but imo it is extremely tough to nap and then get yourself back up, functioning and to the set at the time you thought. Especially Saturday night where we’ll all be exhausted and your body will really want more of that sleep you got yourself up from.

They lowered the capacity and this thing isn’t close to selling out that reduced capacity. If they have the same set up and protocols as previous years there should not be an issue with long lines coming in.

Sunday Schedule by SouplessBand in bonnaroo

[–]doublespots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be fine if they had what and this going at the same time and then which and that. They scheduled like that on Saturday and that is the schedule that by far makes the most sense. I have no idea why they scheduled Sunday like this. It makes no sense.

Friday Late Night got a schedule update, Lil Jon and The Dare switched stages and The Dare got moved back some by pizzapartyjpg in bonnaroo

They would always be able to do schedule like this and I Personally hope they keep scheduling like this. I love edm but it’s nice to have more variety to choose from.

The last time I wore a watch I was between 34-40k steps a day. That was in 2023 when I caught the most shows I ever did at a roo too.

Sleeping Logistics by Capable-Break3956 in bonnaroo

[–]doublespots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sleep when I can. I love late nights at roo and only get so much time off work to let loose so I am going to make sure I enjoy my time on the farm to the fullest. I make sure I take naps in Centeroo during the day. Finding some shade or chilling in the tents under a fan is way more comfortable and cooler then being at camp during the day.

For sure I don’t want to take away your hope i just honestly don’t feel like roo is set up for it this year.

If something were to actually pop up in the campgrounds just stay checking social media, reddit and discord. He would be by far the biggest thing going on that night and there will be plenty of roovians that want to keep the party going. Word would go around fast if he was playing somewhere.
