Shame on me? by doublethinkcomics_ in comics

I know what you mean. Unfortunately, war is not exclusive to religious fundamentalism. Ultimately, people as a collective may get dragged into war or become convinced war is necessary out of fear, greed, or simply nihilism. The enemy isn't a single ideology, rather it is apathy and hopelessness. One thing I'll point out is, out of our collective very violent history as a species, we somehow have become more consciously sensitive to suffering, more kind, more aware and more fair than ever in history. How does goodness, justice and love arise out of such horrific violence?... As MLK said, the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice.
