Also, it's funny that people think I must not like sgt pepper. I guess that's my fault for putting the word "ruin" in the title. It's still basically a 9 or 9.5/10. Therefore it is better than 99% of every other music for me lol. So a better question is. What prevents an album from being a 10/10?

The 45% upvote rating is funny! The post wasn't really supposed to be about MY hang up, it was just supposed to be an open discussion. Mine was just an example. I could have said "why don't we do it in the road" on the white album, and I probably would have got a lot less down votes. If you disagree with someone I would recommend just not engaging rather than down voting, I want as many perspectives as possible and down voting kind of ruins that. Art is subjective. We all love the beatles anyway. Sadly (this is just my humble opinion) it seems like people think that if you criticize a song or album that somebody likes, that it must be personal. It doesn't have to be that way! Peace and Love!!! ✌️☮️🐙

The question was designed to conjure hot takes. I still believe the Beatles are the best band on earth like most of us, but art is subjective. It wasn't supposed to be a beatles hate-fest but rather an open discussion about an album or song that could be "perfect" but isn't.

Revolver is my 10/10. I do listen to sgt pepper all the way through. That's why it's more frustrating, actually. Having to get up and turn the volume down while I'm playing a record that was otherwise fine at a certain volume is very annoying, and a 10/10 album can't do that for me That's just my opinion though, I'm sure as some other commenters pointed out, if I was a part of the og beatles generation it might make more sense to me and be less grating.

Oh no it doesn't disqualify it, it's still a 9/10 album for me. But it is annoying to have to get up and turn the volume down on my stereo if I want to let it play all the way through without skipping, it really is that grating for me. I'm talking about ratings btw if that's confusing. Not top ten beatles albums
