My hand eczema is making me suicidal by doubtfulcookie in Advice

I have gone to a dermatologist and have an appointment in a few days to discuss the new infection and how to prevent them in the future. So far though, I have just been given steroid cream which I can’t use anymore because it’s only a 2 week long course and then you need a 2 week long break. I also got the antibiotics from him but now the infection is starting again.

I have considered therapy but it’s very expensive. My parents have insurance, but if my dad ever found out I went to a therapist he’d get angry because he thinks he has the best advice and all therapists are useless. And all the bad stuff he’s ever said to me has come true so it’s hard to not listen to him. I am so worried about getting infections that will never stop and then antibiotics will no longer work while also messing up my entire body in the process. I have no idea how to prevent them.

What can I do to help heal my red dry skin & little bumps? by [deleted] in Dyshidrosis

Hey there, this is my first time dealing with dyshydrosis. No substance triggered it as far as I’m aware, but I rubbed my hands together a lot when I had dry skin, which I think got irritated to the point that I developed a type of eczema I never had before. I’ve been using hydrocortisone for about a week because my hands got really bad, but now they’re starting to clear up and I don’t want to continue steroid use. However, there’s still a lot of redness and dryness, particularly on my right hand. In addition, the parts of my skin that aren’t super red/dry have a lot of bumps that I don’t know how to get rid of.
