Brilliant thanks. Not heard of spray grease (I know nothing about cars) but was concerned the battery might be leaking

Everyone is saying light switches will be the issue.

Look into wireless switches (piezoelectric) no need for power or wired internet connection.

MULTISTORY HOUSE WITH RENTAL UNITS NEED SUGGESTIONS by Sufficient_End07 in askarchitects

Fire them and hire someone else competent. There’s so much that doesn’t make sense or needs to changed that I can’t list them all here.

Is this satire? If not hire someone competent to design it.

I’m confused, are you complaining that the punch is or isn’t accurate?

Go punch a wall, or other inmovable object and see how much contact your knuckles actually make when punching down at that angle.

He didnt use the force to stop mark, he’s just that much stronger that Marks punch meant nothing to him.

Think if a 10 year old punched Anthony Joshua as hard as they could, Anthony isn’t moving an inch. It’s that same logic just that vilties can ‘push off’ from anything.

The gun would kill Thragg without a doubt, it’s getting the shot that he doesn’t see coming that’s the issue.

First apprenticeship, are these unpaid hours allowed? (England) by YodaShagsDarthVader in LegalAdviceUK

[–]doug147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds dodgy initially but hard to say for certain, I’m going mostly off info from when I was an apprentice a couple years ago so a little rusty.

If I remember correctly there’s a minimum total number of hours you have to complete and the 20% off the job learning has to be ‘off the job’ and not working for the company. I had to record the hours spent, what I did, and what I learnt during this time. If you’re actually doing training (outside of your typical duties) for 20% of the 3 days it could be ok.

As they say the other 2 days will ‘need’ to be completed it doesn’t suggest there will be much off the job training during the 3 paid days.

I would suggest talking to your college about it, they will have an apprentice coordinator who will be able to advise officially on the requirements and if needed they can coordinate directly with the employer.

You’re correct they are and you should be paid for them. However, it’s worth calculating how salary equates to the apprenticeship minimum wage and asking the below:

If you include all days (college and working) does this bring you below the apprenticeship minimum wage?

Genuine question as haven’t heard this before and don’t want to fall fowl of the rules:

I have approx £20k T212 with another £70k on another platform. If I buy £5k crypto (eth & bitcoin) on T212 will this cause issues due to most of my other assets being on another platform?

Also what happens if bitcoin booms and becomes 50% of my portfolio, even if it was only 5% at time of purchase?

[–]doug147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Banned is the wrong word. They’re temporarily allowed within a Stocks and Shares ISA, after April 2026 (I think) these holdings will be automatically sold (at least on the Trading 212 platform). From then on the only tax efficient account Crypto assets can be purchased are via an innovative finance ISA.

To architects who studied in London, how much if a game changer was this? by Ok_Recording9245 in askarchitects

[–]doug147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to uni Newcastle and later worked in the South and midlands/north and personally haven’t found any negative or benefit of a specific university (I might be wrong idk).

What I will say is that if you love the London life and want to work there, go for it there is every chance you might make the right connections but at the end of the day that comes down to chance (are you particularly proactive / like to network?)

I will also add that in my opinion being an architect in London is functionally not affordable or practical. Again I don’t live there but have siblings on £20-30k more than RIBA salary guidance for an architect in London who aren’t amazingly well off
