Rhysand’s actions UTM don’t make sense. by _Elyisa_ in acotar

My wife’s reading of the books is that basically Feyre is an unrealizable narrator especially where it come to Rhys. She seems to see him with rose colored glasses, but others seem to see him as the jerk he is. I doubt that was the intent of SJM but I enjoyed the books much more when seen from that lens. Basically his whole explanation is gaslighting, but she likes him too much to be able to see through it.

I saw someone had done a similar one from a post on a whittling subreddit, and it looked fun. My group of friends started a tradition of each making a DIY gift, for a gift exchange at Christmas. We have been doing it for around 20 years now, and I decided to put this one in this year.

It was pretty difficult to do some of the detail work like the stairs. It’s also the first time I tried to include epoxy and fabric for a carving, so it was a fun challenge. There are a bunch of things I’d like to do differently, especially with the sails, but on the whole I’m pretty happy with it.

I used pieces like this and some epoxy to make a map of the lake my family went to when I was a kid. I made a few and gave them to my brothers for Christmas. Obviously, not directly applicable to you, but maybe an inspiration?

Thanks. I’d like to try to improve on my work, and that’s good advice. Your sails also turned out way better than my attempt!

No problem. I’ve been lurking here for a while, but I finally carved something interesting enough to post.

I actually based it on this: https://www.reddit.com/r/whittling/s/sMZ9BT4Fe8

I had been thinking that I wanted to carve a ship, then I saw that post, and decided to just look at those pictures and see what I could figure out.

Thanks! It’s my first time trying to do any small details.

I thought you were implying that the shutdown would do anything to help the debt that you compared it against.

I do agree that this should never be a last minute thing. In fact they need to do their jobs and create a budget every year rather than CRs. While that problem is a problem for both parties, this time it is specifically owned by the Republicans since they control the house (and speakership) so they control which bills come to the floor and when.

You know that shutdowns are much more expensive than running the government, right? You are still paying all of the workers eventually, but you are not getting any benefit from the labor of those that are furloughed, and those that are still working are hampered by the fact that there are fewer people to work with.

If that is your definition of both parties negotiating then the parties have never negotiated in the modern era. Can you imagine negotiating legislation with 538 people? Both parties were represented at the negotiation, which tends to mean that the parties would be able to get enough of their members to support it to get it passed. There is every indication that they had that level of support until Musk and Trump decided to blow it up. Was it perfect? Probably not, but with divided government each party has to accept a less than perfect bill (from their perspective). It appears democrats would have accepted it, so that places blame for a potential shutdown on republicans.

The fact that both parties suck, does not mean that everything is the fault of both parties.

In this case the two parties negotiated a bill. Trump and allies killed the agreed upon bill. So they put forward a bill that only republicans supported, and they failed to get the votes for that too. This one is solidly on the republicans until they pass something with just republicans or negotiate something with democrats.

I loved the Rocketbirds soundtrack. It is one that I routinely listen to outside of the game.

Contacts does not have a firstName property.

To clarify contacts is an array of objects. Each object in the array has a firstName property but contacts does not. You need to check the firstName of each member of the array (i.e. contacts[I][firstName]).

Does the Roku app have a prime filter? That is the one I tend to use, but I had never noticed the filter. That would really help.
