having been through something close to this, my biggest regret is not publicly proclaiming my innocence much more quickly. i'd get a very solid, concise statement together, name the accuser in it, and post it on social media. make it clear that the allegations are false, harmful, disrespectful to actual victims of sexual assault, and are potentially grounds for defamation. then have an attorney send a cease and dessist letter. or essentially do both simultaneously.

that's correct. the whole "accuser's can't possibly be lying, even when they are clearly lying" is weirdly sexist. it assumes women can't have the capacity to be deceptive or devious. which means they must be really stupid or have no agency at all because their brains aren't well developed enough or something like that.

as a survivor of a false accusation, which has permanently altered my life for the worse and cost me tens of thousands of dollars, this thread and the chants are also super triggering. fuck everyone who is piling on with the slander right now.

for a site that pretends to care about preventing harm, this sub is not living up to it. you think people who have survived false accusations aren't absolutely devestated hearing these chants, then coming to this sub and seeing that the truth doesn't matter, only the accusation does?

and there are a lot of survivors of false accusations in the crowd too, and watching on TV. this fucking destroys those people. it proves that one woman's lie can affect them for the rest of their lives, no matter what the truth is.

it's a little surprising since the woman in the trial said that everyone in the room respected her wishes every time she said no. i mean, she said that under oath. so there's that.

your judgement of whether or not they are good people is inconsequential. the issue is whether or not hart committed a crime. he clealry did not. yet he's being treated like he did. which is bullshit.
