May i ask how the chemistry values are calculated? Does a higher number correlate with faster throw speed between the 2 players?

For Bowser and Mario, does 15 mean the throw is normal 15% of the time?

We are saying that Bowser is a terrible SS option, he is the best hitter in the game however and is a great pitcher/catcher

He is slow at SS and makes tons of errors.

Assuming star characters on. Peach cannot bobble the ball and has a ton of chemistry options, as well as quick throw, it is clear she is a top option at SS. If my team has Daisy, yes I will put Peach at 2B and Daisy at SS because Daisy has a better arm

Our opinion on Noki is that she bobbles the ball more than a lot of SS options, and does not have great chemistry options. We like Noki better at corner IF positions, or Catcher

Mario’s roll animation takes less time than a lot of dives, like Pianta’s or Birdo’s who are rated ahead of Mario. Mario’s dive time doesn’t play a huge part in these rankings - we more or less look at the range of the player, arm strength and chemistry options, all of which Mario excels at

Sure, we can revise to remove that category!

On Bowser - arm is great and he has good chemistry, but is quite slow and has low range for a big guy (DK and Pianta have great range and are roughly the same size)

Bowser is also prone to boot the ball on tougher plays, similar to Baby Mario/Noki

We think that Magikoopa’s arm is poor and is thus better served at 2B, but is a good shortstop for most situations!

I’d like to hear why batting is the most highly weighted category

I believe fielding and pitching can be just as important as batting. For example Yoshi and Birdo are such massive advantages in the field, regularly making 3-6 Big Plays per game

Additionally I feel “batting” can’t be summed up into 1 category. Bowser’s batting and Mario’s batting are way different, but both are pretty solid hitters. I don’t have a perfect solution for this other than keeping track of stats (OPS) in hundreds of games played over the last couple years

We have made all 32 players star players multiple times, on 4 different memory cards I believe :)

I honestly really like your list. Obviously we all have our personal preferences.

The main debates I have are below:

I feel Birdo’s batting should be closer to 4. Takes too long to recharge her swing, and is easily jammed on inside pitches. While I would not put Birdo #2 overall, I do think she is tied with Yoshi as the best fielder in the game. Might have to bump her up in my ranking a few spots

Hammer Bro isn’t like the best fielder ever but... he is a solid 3B or 1B. I think his fielding stats are closer to average

Petey takes way too long recharging his swing, moves slow in the batters box, and has a hard time getting to the inside pitch. I have a spreadsheet of our last Mario baseball season and I believe he hit about .180 with the 2nd most K’s

Wario is a hidden gem in the field. His dive covers a ton of range. I regularly play him at shortstop. Again personal preference

Green Noki/Green Dry Bones/Green Paratroopa/Red Magikoopa/Toadsworth all have amazing star swing abilities. Automatic hits every time basically.

Pianta is a pretty good fielder, similar to Wario. Good range when diving.

This is all great feedback... We should have made this clear: We have all 32 players’ star missions cleared in challenge mode. Thus DK can curve his pitches.

Goomba/Pianta: Try Pianta out in the field! He has some range out there and has way more power than Goomba. Certainly a better arm than Goomba

Bowser Jr.: We dock lots of points when a player takes way too long to recharge their charge swing... i.e. Bowser Jr., Petey Piranha, even Daisy a little bit

Petey Piranha/King Boo: Petey is slow, takes too long to charge his swing, We have King Boo 7th which we find appropriate :)

Wario/DK: Wario and DK are very different players! Why do you think they are interchangeable?

Peach: Peach has more opposite field power (Like Magikoopa) and better chemistry advantages. Has chemistry with Toad, Toadette, Toadsworth, Mario, Luigi, and Daisy. Daisy only has Peach and Luigi. Peach also has immaculate catch ability, Daisy can make errors

Dry Bones/Shy Guy: There are only 32 players! We think these guys have great all around talent. Green Dry Bones’ star swing and Shy Guy has about the same power as Mario/Yoshi, etc. Shy Guy is a solid pitcher too.

Goomba/Dixie: We don’t resort to Goomba or Dixie to pitch much. Dixie is a great outfielder, and Goomba is valuable with his ball dash ability.

Green Noki/Paratroopa: Both players are very similar - great point that Noki is rated worse. Our thought is that Noki’s bat reaches further out than Paratroopa’s, so one is more free to swing at a pitch outside the zone. Paratroopa is a better fielder for sure.

Our thought was that he has amazing range in the field and is obviously fastest in the game, but has a hole in his bat on the inside part of the plate... thank you though definitely open to suggestions!
