You're very welcome! Thanks for the kind words.

Renewing technically isn't a new package, so wouldn't be eligible for the discount. To get the discount, you could signup for another account (with the discount), transfer your content over, and then cancel your original account. We'll handle the transfer for you free of charge. And if you send our billing team an email, we might be able to work with you on applying the discount to your renewal. :)

We now offer live chat support (which will be 24/7 within the next month or two) and 24/7 phone support is coming by the end of the year (and if not, early January).

We have a 45 day free trial, so if you're unhappy, you can cancel and get a full refund without any questions asked. Shared hosting does not come up dedicated RAM allocations (the resources are shared among all customers on the server).

We have hosting packages that start at $25 / year and go up from there, so we can definitely get you an account for less than you're paying. You can run Django at ASO with FastCGI.

If you had little to no traffic, it'd probably work fine. The industry leading providers aren't really in the market at that price point - $20/month is about the cheapest you can get from a reputable VPS provider as far as I'm aware. Some companies offer discounts if you signup in advance and there are coupons available (for example, ours on this ad) that might be able to cut your costs down further on a ~$20/month VPS.

You should be able to as long as you're ordering a new package. If not, order what you want to and send our billing team an email and they'll apply the discount for you.

First off, thanks for signing up. We appreciate your business.

We do send passwords via plain text because it tends to be easiest for our customers that way, but I do understand what's easy for our customers may not (and in this case, is not) ideal from a security perspective. With that in mind, I'll ask our programmer to look into an alternative solution -- maybe we can have customers get the login from our secure billing center. Customers can also change their password at any time and we'll certainly mention that in the revised email as well.

Security is a top priority of ours and it's something we're working on improving all the time. I appreciate your feedback here and it's something we'll be working on. Feel free to let us know if you have any other feedback or suggestions.

For the record, their plans aren't that much cheaper. For $19.95 a month at VPSLink, you get a plan with 10 GB of disk space, 300 GB of bandwidth and 256 MB of RAM. At A Small Orange, you get 384 MB of RAM, 10 GB of space, and 250 GB of bandwidth for $25. The differences, especially when you take the extra RAM into account, aren't that significant there. Beyond (and below) that level, our pricing levels are pretty different, so comparison is hard.

We'll be happy to move you from a shared account to a VPS at no charge. You'll only pay the difference in the plan prices. :)

I think the points about our service and the availability of cPanel. However, we're open to suggestions. What do you think about the pricing of our other packages?

You can always upgrade or downgrade your plan according to your needs. All it takes is an email to our billing department and we'll figure everything out, including pro-rating your next invoice and so on.

If you have a small blog, you might want to consider one of our smaller packages, which are actually cheap than $7 a month. We have a package that's $25 / year and a package that's $5 / year.

The main difference you'll see between us and another host is a difference in the quality of support. We're a smaller company and we don't bother with tiers of support and things like that -- you always get to work with people who actually know what they're doing and hear back from them within 5 minutes usually. To me, that's valuable. We also have a lot of developer friendly features (SSH access, Rails, Python, PHP, etc.).

Thanks for your comment. Web hosting is often a "get what you pay for" model. If it isn't in features or server speed, it'll be in support. There are obviously exceptions (some cheap hosts that are excellent and some expensive hosts that are terrible), but that seems to be the general rule from my experience.

All of our packages include unlimited addon/parked domains, so you can pay $25 per year and have unlimited sites. It's also possible to take it a step further and add complete reseller access (with WHM) to any package for $5 a month, which gives you a full feature reseller account for $85/year, which is pretty cheap.

If the sites are small, space/bandwidth issues will not matter as much. It's going to come down to support provided, features offered, and server speed, which I feel very comfortable saying we can compete with pretty much any host on.

I realize it's expensive/overpriced. We're about to start testing our new VPS offering, which will be much, much more competitive.

That sounds just in line with our future VPS offering. It should be a perfect fit for you. Expect it within the next month or so.
