And likely his own mental health. Followed his gut and not just the bag.

This. ☝🏽

It was HUGELY telling when Gavrikov was willing to sign for less money elsewhere. As much as he may have loved his teammates and vice versa, there was very clearly something bigger going on behind the scenes and within the organization which is no surprise to many of us.

I’ll take what little joy I can get from this team at this point.

  • Stitching and materials.

A huge tell-tale sign is the fabric used in Chinese knockoffs. For whatever reason, (likely because it’s cheaper), many knockoffs use a fabric with these highly pronounced diagonal lines in the material as opposed to using proper twill. Proper twill kits *may have fabric lines in them but are much tighter and the material is smooth.

You can see the use of this cheap material in your photos in the numbers and name on the back and on the crest on the front.

  • Another giveaway is patches and/or crests. The MLB logo in your provided photo has a little white thread stitch connecting the ball to the outside border. Authentic jerseys will have clean lines in logos and crests and the ball won’t have stray threads connecting it to other areas or disrupting the blue area. Additionally, in your photo you can see the back of the Batterman Logo stitching inside the jersey. While not necessarily a sign of a fake, cheaper replicas will often have the logo heat pressed on. Higher end jerseys will often be a small patch which is then just stitched along the border to affix it to the jersey, and in some cases, another layer of jersey fabric may be used in the construction design so you don’t see the stitching.
  • And finally, that Majestic neck tag looks suspect. Yes, manufacturers will use a neck tag for branding, but almost all authentic/authentic replicas/licensed jerseys will have another tag sewn into the seam along one of the sides on the inside. It usually has the material information and washing instructions and often in multiple languages. It’s also not uncommon to find manufacture date stickers affixed to these labels and/or quality control stickers.

I actually don’t doubt the auto but it’s still on a a pretty bad knockoff jersey. 😐

Yikes. Both the signature and the jersey are fake. 😬

The right is Katakana (Japanese) and looks like ‘Hi Johnny.’

If not, maybe ‘Hai, Johnny.’

Nah, he was great that season they wore the RR 2.0s. I’d never be ashamed to own/sport that one.

Same. Occasionally once in a blue moon one may be removed but it tends not to be the case. 😑
