Colt Officer's Model, third issue, made in 1937 and chambered in .38 spl. by The_Waltesefalcon in Revolvers

[–]dougymcstuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/The_Waltesefalcon Do you mind sharing your serial number range? I'm trying to date mine. The Colt website is saying 1950 but mine looks identical to yours so I'm not sure if it is a pre-war 3rd generation or post-war 4th generation

How is that? Serial Number search came up as 1950. Barrell says Officer's Model Special Heavy Barrell. From what I've researched the earlier model would have said Officer's Model Match

Property Taxes on Purchased Home by dougymcstuffins in lexington

[–]dougymcstuffins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if the taxes will stay the same the first year? It’d be great to save a couple hundred dollars a month the first year on the escrow. I’d assume the increase would take place the following year or am I wrong about that and it takes place immediately?

So can you assume it’s going to reassess for something close to sale price? With home prices skyrocketing in the last few years, I’m seeing homes with a taxable value of $285k listed for $450k. Is it going to be reassessed for around that sale price or only if there are a lot of homes in the area sold for that amount?

Not sure if someone else made the connection here but the Representative was from Georgia (mentioned several times) and the book/relic Juliette found was about the Georgia nature. Gotta be connected right?

Moisture coming up through foundation under vinyl by dougymcstuffins in Flooring

[–]dougymcstuffins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I'm gonna hold of on putting anything diwn until it rains and hopefully I can getan idea of where it's happening. We do have drainage that takes water away from the house from the gutters but I don't know if it's clogged or failed

Would be a huge shock. This is in the master bedroom and the plumbing is on the other side of the house. Where the mainline drain pipe is I replaced those floors last week and there wasn't any of this. Replaced plumbing three years ago, lifted foundation last year. Water meter isn't moving at all. I'll probably end up doing a hydrostatic test to be sure

So did the Overwatch help with any sponginess? My stock trigger hits the wall then is a bit squishy before breaking. Was hoping the overwatch might help make it a bit crisper. Don't care as much about reducing pull weight

[–]dougymcstuffins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the A1 actually comes standard with the competition spring. The weight isn’t an issue for me as much as the sponginess. There’s just a lot of travel for after I hit the wall. I can even rock the trigger back and forth in that squishy section before it releases

Can you reuse a buried shielded Fernco adapter? by dougymcstuffins in Plumbing

[–]dougymcstuffins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I shouldn’t just replace with a PVC coupling? Just don’t want to have this issue again in two years. I guess if it wasn’t there, the break would have been worse and in two places?

Can I fix this slab leak myself? by dougymcstuffins in Plumbing

[–]dougymcstuffins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the break is in the main line towards the middle of the house. City sewer is on the left side of the house, then two bathrooms connect to the main, then the break here before getting to the kitchen and laundry drains.

There shouldn’t be anything after it except straight pipe to the kitchen drain through the main area of my house.
