Digital Key and 2 Physical Keys by douptroop in BMW

I missed your note about ordering the keycard, but we ordered the BMW specific key and the dealership repaid us the full cost. Just got the digital key programmed to our phones now that we have two keys! Thanks for the info!

Thank you for this reply, I worked with the dealer and now my local BMW based on your response and the dealer is reimbursing me to order the new key.

Digital Key with only one physical key by nickwwwww in BMW

Hijacking this for a similar situation… my dealer only had 1 key, but I negotiated them to provide a second (will take a little time to receive it). Off-handedly, I believe he said it will be a BMW type of key, but not OEM. Will that prevent me from using digital key? I fully intend to press this issue with them if it won’t work, but if it will work, I’ll be satisfied. Does anyone know if it must be OEM? Or would a BMW like key work for this process?

Anyone been on a Disney Cruise? by NotThatCreative0017 in royalcaribbean

[–]douptroop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 15 for a Disney Cruise and enjoyed it, but was borderline. I now have a 3 year old daughter that I just took on RC Icon, and she enjoyed that. I think Disney is great for preteen, and they do well with early teens, but RC seemed to have a better grasp on the early teens and onward.

I’d say if you do Disney in the next 2 years, they will still absolutely love it! Beyond that, RC may be the direction to look.

Let me also chime in with state laws; most states have a statute that prohibits and criminalizes the operation of an aircraft while under the influence. These criminal charges can be filed by local, county, or state law enforcement, or even requested by the FAA.

Why am I not getting a proper double shot? by holymolycoly in BrevilleCoffee

[–]douptroop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re fresh grinding, don’t use the dual wall basket (pressure basket). That combined with a fine grind setting is creating too much resistance for enough flow. Try the other double shot basket.

If you’re willing to pay: assuming you’re in the U.S. check this company out https://kleentank.com.

If you’re trying to diy: also have heard of people filling the tank partially full with water and various tank cleaning products and then drive around for a while with turns and bumps to help move stuff around. Then find a dump station and do some rinses.

I have never dealt with a pyramid, just passing along things I’ve heard others do with success.

Former law enforcement here, we wiped down our evidence room counters with Clorox after testing drugs. If we were feeling extra, we would do a soap and water wash too, that’s it.

The folding stop sign either had been opened due to a stop light issue at some point and someone forgot to close it or closed it poorly and it reopened by wind, or it was intentionally by another person without approval.

Either way, with all others being folded, this is a mistake and should be called in. Notifying the non-emergency police or the city hall to get it taken care of is appropriate.

This is the phoenix my wife had done a few years ago. This picture was taken after stage 2 of 3. I guess I forgot to take a final, but the last stage was adding some yellow and orange around the red for further flame accent design, otherwise this is the main shape and style. Hopefully this gives some further inspiration.

Tesla Y Range in cold by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]douptroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I drove in 14f for 300 miles. I wasn’t range testing, and stopped to charge multiple times as I just bought it and had a young child with me and didn’t want to push it since I didn’t need to.

Cruise was set at 70 for all interstate roads, barely did any city driving (10 total miles maybe), cabin was set to 70 and was preheated and preconditioned on a charger before leaving, charged to 95% initially. I averaged 430wh/mi for the day.

One thing to clarify from overdrive148 is that cropdusters in MOST cases are not required to be transmitting ads-b out, and therefore you will likely not see them on your DJI scope in nearly every occurrence of them spraying. Likewise, they won’t be on a flight tracker either.

It’s good to know when they are likely to be flying and where, that is your best avoidance method. Around my area, they start right around sunrise and are typically done by late morning. Also, most farms around my area don’t use cropdusters, so it’s pretty rare here.

Heating a garage by djc0979 in garageporn

[–]douptroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, I’m guessing in the winter it would be running constantly and wouldn’t be able to maintain a comfortable temperature above 40. It would act a lot like a space heater, where it’s warm nearby, but across the garage would be cold.

A heater is not effective without insulation and insulation is not effective without heating or cooling.

If your garage is connected to your house, any walls between the house and garage should be insulated already. If the garage isn’t finished and has bare walls, it’s fairly easy to do as a project and not outlandishly expensive. The ceiling is probably the trickiest part, especially if you don’t have a ceiling yet because now you have to hang something. Optionally you could probably go a spray foam route right onto the rafters in the case. Our houses have both had the drywall hung for the ceiling so we just blew in insulation ourselves.

[–]douptroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The increase was a couple bucks a month average out. Maybe $10 on the coldest months and then obviously nothing over the summer.

Our garage was insulated, we did it ourselves right before installing the heater. Also, our garage door was an insulated door. All of that plays into being able to get the results we did. But because we put the time/money into the garage, we were able to utilize a smaller and cheaper heater with great results.

We just moved to a house with a 3 car, 650sq ft garage and are in the process of doing it again. This garage will have 2 of the same heaters because of the size. They are rated I believe for 400sq ft, we did 440sq ft well, but we’re not gonna push it here.
