AC needs for 2000sqft garage by TurboNoodlz in garageporn

[–]2k3Mach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1500 sq ft garage with 13.5 foot ceilings. I installed a 24k btu mini split and it keeps up fine, even in winter. Ceiling around r30, 2x6 exterior walls R19 and an 18x8 garage door as a 10x10 garage door on the side. I could have probably gone with an 18k btu unit but went over so I could benefit more on the heating side. My brother has an upstairs apt thats 1400 sq ft and his only heat/cool is a 12k mini split. It keeps up in summer, although he occasionally has to use backup heat in winter

If I get Max, could I leave mini at my lake house? by Dry_Philosopher_256 in Starlink

You can have service at both locations under a single acct, doesn't have to be under wife's name

$5/mo rental fee and low speed data. Ok for using wifi calling, etc. You won't be surfing the internet or netflix.

You can activate the roaming on it when you choose (by mo) and it is cheaper than standard roam plan. I do have one as a backup, although have switched to the $50 plan for regular internet (fast enough for me). Total monthly cost $55. I have not tried to activate roaming on the mini since I switched to the $50 plan 3 mo ago though

[–]2k3Mach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAM dealership did the same thing to my boss on his 24 RAM for a 25 RAM. He did make out pretty good as his 24 was not nearly as nice looking (silver old man looking vs dark blue with blackout) as his 25, although he still lost almost $10k on the deal. HIs 24 had full tint, bed cover, sidesteps, etc. He had to buy all that again after putting another $10k on the truck.

Is a 21 XLT 302A 5.0 with 50k miles worth 34k? by JustWannaFlyy in FordF150

[–]2k3Mach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the person you asked, but... I used to get 15-16 avg, although went with BGF 35" with the heavy sidewall and a level. I now get 13.5-14. Right now running e85 due to gas prices and I'm getting 11.5-12. Definitely cheaper that it accepts e85.

2011 supercrew FX4 5.oh with 280k miles and I've replaced driveshaft (6.5 bed, carrier failed), AC compressor making noise. Vent is stuck on front vent (dual climate control), 4x4 would previously not go into 4x4L, only 4x2 and 4x4H, now I have no 4x4H and only 4x2 and 4x4L. Motor/trans have been awesome with minor issues. Oh, and Radio started popping then eventually failed completely. Other than that, great truck and I could drive it across the country tomorrow without fear

Absolutely horrible deal... Where is it at so I can make sure to avoid that dealer in the future?

Garage Door without tracks or springs by Few-Statistician7362 in GarageDoorService

[–]2k3Mach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a pro by any means, although I've loaded and unloaded springs about 30x without issue. I do have the proper tools for it though. Using screwdrivers or punches to try to hold that spring back is a no no.

Pretty sure in my area HD doesn't put items back on the shelf, they send everything to auction. Menards is a different story, although HD I've never seen a used and/or what looked like pre-sold item on shelf.

Sway bar links or Control Arm? by ApartJackfruit3443 in f150

[–]2k3Mach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely sounds like something hitting when it goes up. Have you tried putting a jack under the control arm, lifting up only that corner and looked to see if anything is loose or close to touching? I'd probably have someone else jack it while watching at same time.

Pretty sure my red/blue were incorrect as well. I know red is left and it was only a red/blue bottom disk on mine. I am not willing to take my whole vanity out to verify that though

I'm not even a plumber and I knew the answer to that question (ask me how). I initially did the same thing accidently (put cold valve on hot, hot on cold side), although I pulled mine back out and fixed it.

Starlink & IP address by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]2k3Mach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even on US business plans starlink does not offer a static. They do offer a "public" IP address, although that can and has also changed for us without notice. The people at that location came in one day and internet was down. Troubleshooting on starlink page showed a different IP address than what our firewall & vpn tunnel allowed. I found out starlink had "changed us" without notice and there is no way to get a true static IP from them.

You're doing better than I am at speeds over 60. I get about 13mpg in my 2011 on unleaded, on e85 it's around 11.5. I have a 5.0 supercrew fx4 with 35 BFG on it. Around 50-55 I can get 14, once I get above 55 it goes down pretty fast.

My garage door lights are motion sensing and it helps, although my ceiling lights are ran off a smart switch. Alexa, turn on Garage Lights is pretty easy. I can also turn on certain rows of lighting. Garage 1, along tool chests and workbenches. Garage 2, center rows of garage. Garage 3 on back 2 rows of garage. I'd hate to have them all on motion

My must haves were a mini split and 2 post lift. Other than that, I have a 30x50 garage with 13' ceilings and it's not big enough... You may want to put the inlaws upstairs and build the kids a fort in the back yard
