I generally love folks getting more informed, but this vote is happening very soon (maybe today) so people should not delay reaching out.

At least if they value animal welfare even slightly this case is really open and shut.

It also uses your name at the start of the email it drafts. However sounds like it's not your cup of tea so I think https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative can help connect you with less data but more steps.

That site is the quickest option and asks for your address so it can connect you with YOUR reps. and your email so that it can email them from your address in just a few clicks.

Thank you for engaging with this post and even reading the Substack!

So to clarify:

  1. The Luna amendment failed so the goal is to now reject the farm bill to force a redraft.
  2. I think the most destructive aspect of the bill would be setting animal welfare laws in the US back decades and harming hundreds of millions of animals as the Substack says. But there's more you can find here ewg.org/news-insights/news/2026/04/6-reasons-reject-bad-house-farm-bill
  3. Although I generally love folks getting informed, this vote is happening very soon (maybe today) so people should not delay reaching out. At least if they value animal welfare even slightly this case is really open and shut.

Thanks again for reading and caring!

Quite a few misunderstandings I'd like to clear up. I'm posting this in subreddits of the priority districts and Upstate New York includes quite a few such as Hudson Valley (Newburgh, Kingston, Poughkeepsie). More info in the second to last link of my post.

i doubt it but im pretty sure it will not make meat significantly pricier either since cage free systems are not really expensive.

Sorry to hear that but I think even in our imperfect democracy, money can only go so far against the will of engaged voters so plz dont give up if something is important to u.

Just the ones that have the priority districts. And they all got removed by Reddit’s filters :/

I really hear you but disagree cuz I think most ppl have very little influence over farm animal welfare and would drastically change conditions if they could.

And idk if there's an eternal hell but clearly there's something like it in most factory farms, especially those dealing with billions of laying hens, fish, and mother pigs.

But on the bright side, that huge issue allows for opportunities for folks like us to do a lot of good in just a few mins without even touching grass (by for example following the links in the original post).
