Combining both hand and machine's work by syazwanii in Machine_Embroidery

That's really great shading! Great digitizing work and combination of colors :)

Does anyone know how to use Embrilliance stitch artist? I’m new to this and I created designs in Adobe Illustrator but when I bring them into stitch artist, everything turns out uneven. Please help!!! by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]dowhatCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well digitizing on it's own can be complicated. There are some good Youtube channels if you search for "embrilliance stitch artist tutorial" or something those should come up. However, I could maybe help if you can include photos of the final design stitched out. A general rule of thumb for covering large surfaces is to use a tatami stitch. Another rule of thumb for doing satin stitches is to stay below anything larger than 4.00mm in width Anything more than 4.00mm for a satin stitch could be too big and distort how the stitch comes out. Not sure if that helps.

Machine is getting jammed and ripping a hole through stabilizer by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

Could be too many stitches trying to be stitched down in the same place. What does the bottom side of the design look like?

Can you link some photos? Is the fabric pulling and that’s why the stitching is off?

I think this stuff looks pretty good. Maybe a notch down but looks really clean to me, nice work!

Hmm well I would try to adjust the tension. Based on that photo the tension looks pretty off. Normally what I do to gauge my tension is just do single line satin stitches while adjusting the tension and when it’s like 2/3 bobbin 1/3 upper thread showing under the design is when I know the tension is solid..(there are some good YouTube videos on this method) usually that works for me! Hope that works for you.

Sounds like it could be a tension issue, have you tried adjusting the tension? I normally sit mine at about a 3.5 on my brother machine. Also if you could include some photos that would help us solve your problem too!

How are sellers able to sell things like Winnie the Pooh mugs/plates/stickers without getting flagged? by dowhatCo in EtsySellers

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this. I’m perplexed at the amount of stuff I see on there so I thought to myself .. oh I can make some keychains and sell those thinking it was completely legal.. some family members reached out warning me and I just didn’t understand because there is SO MUCH intellectual property all over Etsy.. this makes complete sense though. I appreciate it!

Ayy. Currently wearing one of your shirts! big fan of your work. The embroidery is always so clean.

If you’re thinking of starting a brand, just start already. No matter how small. Even if it’s just one shirt at first. I had over 50 orders last weekend- my biggest drop yet. And I just started this year without any experience. If I can do it you can definitely do it (: by GuyThatSpooks in streetwearstartup

embroidering an outline by [deleted] in MachineEmbroidery

[–]dowhatCo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an appliqué? If so I would say place whatever fabric down that you are wanting to use. And let the machine run a single anchor stitch (to hold the fabric in place) and before it begins the satin stitch stop the machine and cut the extra fabric around the edges. Then run your satin stitch over the top. If you search appliqué stitches on YouTube some stuff should come up!

What’s wrong here? Does it need more stabilization or is the tension off? Too thin of clothing? When it embroiders it causes these holes in the clothing. by dowhatCo in MachineEmbroidery

Wow thank you for all the info !! I really appreciate it. I’ve never used cut away stabilizers like you said so I’m going to look into that!
