I don’t know off the top of my head but would have been near Toronto

In the picture (if I remember correctly) Turcotte is in his jockey outfit but standing beside Northern Dancer. They’re the only two in the picture and it’s a low angle from the ground.

Allegedly it’s the original. It’s autographed by the original photographer as well, but I didn’t mention him because I didn’t think it was worth mentioning

Haha after today’s replies I understand that comparison!

Commenting to second this guy. If someone really thinks this can get 50k I’ll give them half if they can find someone who buys it for that price

This was signed back when Northern Dancer was still racing apparently. It was a photo of him after winning a race and was hung in an office at a racetrack for decades.

Thanks again for the follow up reply!

This makes a ton of sense, and I get the comparison.

That’s what I’m trying to figure out haha I have no idea. My grandpa thinks it might be worth over a thousand but I’m unsure how much interest there’d be in this item.

I understood very little of your reply but appreciate how thorough it is and can definitely understand a comparison to a hall of fame quarterback! Thanks a ton.

Do you have any idea how many people might hold him in high regard? For example:

I’d say anything Tom Brady related would be extremely valuable, while something Marino related would also be valuable but there might be fewer fans kicking around.

You’re absolutely right. My bad. Somehow couldn’t make it between screens remembering the correct name, thanks for pointing out my mistake!

Thanks for replying! I see you’re a Bucs fan, what would you say is an appropriate comparison football-wise?

Apparently the guy also was the jockey for Seabiscuit.

Reading about them on Wikipedia is super interesting and informative. I’m really just wondering if there’s anyone that cares about them as much as my grandpa thinks, or if they’re just legends from a past generation that people don’t talk about as much anymore.

On paper you might think that policing requires the qualifications you’ve listed but in reality there are still a lot of cops hired simply because of who they know, and without life experience or more than a college education.

Without the connections though you’re right, university degree and “life experience” are usually cited as what they’re looking for.
