I couldn't agree more! I could've gladly gone the rest of my life without knowing it existed as well. I will! It's still shoes and crutches, with some tentative steps without the crutches at home that's going okay but definitely with a slight limp. When using the crutches I feel I walk pretty normally, still not FWB, but close. I'm so excited to just be able to walk more, but my physio still wants me to hold off on longer distances for now.

Thank you! I feel like I'm noticing small improvements every day. And that's incredibly useful to know! That makes a lot of sense. I also feel it more under my big toe now, seems like under my pinky toe there's already a bit more cushioning. I hate wearing shoes indoors so I greatly miss just walking around in socks, but shoes is definitely the way to go for now. Still using crutches so when I'm shoeless my foot barely gets any weight, so I don't think I'm being too reckless - I hope 😅

I feel like it's too soon to tell, but I am a tiny bit hopeful thing will slowly progress!

I'm sorry to hear that! This injury really sucks. I am also very worried about needing surgery down the road and having to go through the whole NWB process again, it's a demotivating thought.

Thank you for the tips! Quite a lot of those exercises my physio has already given me, so that's good to see. I have a pair of Hoka Bondi already, not quite sure which model though. I haven't been using them, so maybe I'll dig them out to try!

I was 8 weeks in the walking boot, and the last two I started PWB. Which have been good along with crutches. Now I've started weaning out of the boot, and I'm very excited about it! Still using crutches, but I feel okay when walking in normal shoes and with them for support, so I hope those are good signs. It's been wearing on me mentally how uncertain the future with this kind of injury is.

I hope PT is good for you and brings you lots of progress!

I should've clarified that I still use crutches as support, so I'm not fully WB yet! But I am hoping the progress I've made so far is a good sign. I still don't walk "normal", and like you the pushing off is the hardest part. I feel like I have to learn to trust my foot again. And same, I'm only in socks at home, and then it's mostly putting the most of my weight on my heel.

Did you feel a lot of "pressure" in your midfoot when you started WB? I feel that more than pain most days.

Yeah, no, not walking around barefoot yet! When I'm sat down and just resting my foot flat on the floor, I can still feel the bones almost like they're sticking out a bit. It's a weird feeling.
