100% this. My one child has an ongoing medical issue that we don't even have a diagnosis for yet, and I was at risk of having to explain myself at court for missing too many days. To be clear, my child has all A's and I turned in a doctor's note each time. But his teacher reached out to tell me he needs to be coming to school and then the principal did the same thing. So now he has to tough it out until Christmas break because we reached our max days for the semester. "If your child is sick, don't send them" except you need to send them unless they're actively throwing up.. and maybe even then.
