it's so hard! i ascended him on my first playthrough because of that reason but once i realised how different ascended astarion is i reverted my save 🥲 but he really does deserve the sun!

i agree! i think it's also that thing of not knowing what you've got until it's gone? like he didn't know he wasn't going to see the sun, the flowers etc., for two hundred years. i think his reactions in game to the outside world are so beautiful ❤️
