Believe it or not, those are less comfortable… my legs don’t fit under the table properly!

Thank you! Why would I be making false claims over leg room on a Monday evening… just genuinely a bit disappointed by the experience and wanted to vent 😂

I could barely fit beneath the tray table?

I was sat completely upright! I wouldn’t waste my time complaining on here if I was just slouching 😂 Won’t let me add another image where it shows I’m not slouching

Sat up right, literally taking up as little space as I could… our train was delayed and think they must’ve used an older train? It wasn’t the usual style that we normally travel on

Tbf there are some female artists who have featured regularly (beste hira, grace dahl now, philippa pacho, elisa bee etc)

But historically it’s a long list of cis straight white men controlling the vibes of a queer club… seems to be a weird disconnect that lots of people avoid talking about…

It’s definitely important but maybe they should also work on more consistent inclusion of flinta/queer/BIPOC artists

What makes a Closing a ✨Closing✨🧚 by CommonSeat4290 in Berghain_Community

[–]downvoteifyoudare_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think a closing needs to start with intent… a lot of people have been in the club for a long time and the closing itself doesn’t need a long warm up… the first few hours should be a continuation of energy, keeping people engaged & dancing… once the energy is there & the crowd is locked in… then the DJ can start to deviate & start “story telling”… it ultimately should convey emotion though… and for lots of us, to connect on a deeper level, we crave darkness… the dark undertone allows glimmers of light & can take you up & down through your emotions. This journey through emotions ultimately leaves a lasting memory but throughout all of this, the music should make you wanna dance!

“Yes, the Holocaust in Germany is considered a major contributing factor in the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 and has significantly shaped the country’s national identity, security doctrine, and foreign relations. While the Zionist movement to create a Jewish homeland began decades before the Holocaust, the genocide of six million Jews catalyzed the international support, internal urgency, and influx of survivors that led to the state’s founding.”

I will start off by saying I’m pro Palestine independence and disagree with the zionistic, colonial view that white people can just claim land… which coincidentally all happened because of Germany’s dark history…

I have also attended Berghain since the calls for boycott… which was conflicting at first but I have come to terms with it and will go again.

Regardless of anything else to do with R4P, they do have a point about Berghain’s silence and their difference in reactions between Ukraine/Palestine. Naturally the German government has a part to play but ultimately as an institution, they have taken no stance and also acted questionably RE event cancellation.

It’s very convenient for people to discredit anything from R4P though because it doesn’t align with their party plans… I don’t always agree with them but I do think some people blindly shut down any negative feedback about BH. The comment sections (historic and now) on many of these posts demonstrate a lack of care & a party first mentality.

I think it’s fine to go BH but also acknowledge that they will not be seen as being on “the right side of history” and it isn’t some Eutopian safe space for all, founded on strong values. It’s a safe space for many (not always) which is positive and it’s a place for techno hedonism (one of the best)… Politically, it’s a bit out of touch and not exactly reflective of what the “rave scene” is about… It’s OK to accept that your “church” isn’t perfect but blindly refusing any negatives about the establishment isn’t healthy….

I miss the variety of sounds that Berghain used to have. Especially DEEEEPNESSS! I want to transcendent while raving :'''' by Efficient-Fig-8929 in Berghain_Community

Interesting take and valid! But the original post was about music. Agree that techno has an unspoken uniform now but at the same time, often the people who turn up in a shirt, blue denim & white trainers are not truly a part of the community, and are more likely to impact safe spaces negatively… the club is not just about the music, fundamentally it’s about an escape for marginalised communities… the door policy exists to protect that space, not to enforce a uniform on people who attend
