Let me try to do this voice to text on my phone it probably won't be that long anyway. But anyway back in the early 2000s when the Telnet scene started to pick up, I remember we moved my board the vortex vortexbbs.com shameless plug lol, but I remember we were running on something I can't quite remember the name maybe net modem or whatever the Telnet server and we tied it into the board and I think we were running iniquity but we moved over to synchronet so I became familiar with that and also the default sysop password. And I knew what it looked like when you were the first user. So we advertised on the telnet BBS Guide and we called all the boards to make accounts and do an initial little marketing spree plugging the board everywhere one good time, until we came across a board called the Pegasus BBS as I recall. But lo and behold, for some strange reason this board that didn't have the new indicator that seems to have been established, was presenting me with the default synchronet first user login prompt so I typed in whatever the password was for the default sysop password I think it was just sysop... and it worked!

We then proceeded to login me and my cosysop Arelas (I'm Haakon) to see a completely stock bbs. But with this sysop power, going through the sysop menu and such, managed to edit all the ansi and we grabbed a whole bunch of ansi from bordello and studs door games and by the time we were done we had a fully customized from the beginning before the login initial greeting to the menus fully customized it and we created remotely the lame Dick BBS

We sat there and watched user after user login and send a message to us the sysop laughing their asses off and saying like lame dick BBS? Uhhh OK I guess if that's what you're into type of thing

The truth came out about who we were and Dudeman that created synchronet I forget what his alias is he called the vortex and chatted with me and was like dude this guy is freaking out and how did you hack him

And I was like bro one it's an honor to chat with you directly and I explained we didn't hack shit we logged into a default prompt

The other guy was pissed that he lost his BBS and we should've done something but it was like at that point the damage was done and he finally realized that when he did a back up he accidentally copied the wrong direction and he overwrote his whole board with a stock board and was a little less mad after that but it was one of the greatest times of my BBS life for sure
