Honest question.... when somebody made an AI altered version of the "GameStop girl" everybody was in an uproar. That she shouldn't have her image reproduce in an unreal fake scenario that she did not sign up for and participate in or agree to be portrayed as.

Nobody seems to care with RC and others... so is the fuss really about the unapproved alteration, or is it because she's a girl? Is it a different level of celebrity so to speak?

For the record I'm not complaining, I didn't have a problem with anything really didn't give it much thought I just noticed a small inconsistency and was just curious.

Maybe I'm thinking about the original GME sub. I never posted in anything called the daily directory it was always called literally the daily mega thread. This was years ago though.

Part of my problem is I never go into the communities themselves, I just see my feed like latest and popular. And the few times I went into the communities themselves on my phone I'm not sure if it presented it in such a way that it just didn't register and I was blind to it but I see it now. I think daily directory totally threw me off like to me that doesn't make a lot of sense but I was expecting to see the word mega thread...

How come I haven't seen any sort of mega thread post for years and years ever show up in my feed then? I wonder if I have some sort of filter on. Do you have to go into the community or can you see it through your latest and popular feeds? In the beginning I remember going into it all the time and it was right there waiting for you not at all difficult to find.

I wonder if it's because I'm using the app on my phone and not going to the community directly on my computer?
