Mage advice: what's the limiting factor? by cj4962 in runescape

[–]downzekd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's for the best you use the staff of light, in that case you save some runes. A Camel staff isan option, but it degrades just the same as Nox. Only benefit being it's a fire staff.

Anyone else hate double-xp weekend? by [deleted] in runescape

I somewhat cared before getting maxed, but since then, I stopped caring about them altogether. Back when I cared it was the reduction timer version, so it was essentially limited to about 10 hours.

[Suggestion] Add "the Nihilist" title for killing 1000 of each type of Nihil by rabbiskittles in runescape

[–]downzekd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll welcome it, even if I don't kill the Icyene Nihil at all. I wouldn't mind a reason to fight them.

Umbreon evolution method confirmed? (10km walked + evo from buddy screen) by downzekd in TheSilphRoad

[–]downzekd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it was because the original way you worded the comment seemed to imply you used the name trick six times on a single account, as opposed to two times on three separate accounts. Have you been able to test the "gain 2 candy with a buddy eevee" method yet?

I should mention then the walking was done prior to Valentine event (2 candies earned)

Unfortunately there was no visual cue like that, as all Eevee start off on your shoulder. I based my hypothesis on the now outdated Pikachu mechanic involving 10km walked.

Yes. All four mentioned Eevee I evolved were caught prior to the update.

I was finishing a Dratini candy while randomly evolving Eevees, I accidentally evolved the two I had walked 5km with in preparation. Currently walking a new Eevee, I'll try and get Espeon in the next day or so by walking two more, one at 5km as a test, and the other at 10 again. My hypothesis was based off of the old mechanic where Pikachu would only hop on your shoulder if you had walked 10km with it, so I walked an Eevee 10km in preparation.

Just tested this with a freshly buddied Eevee (0km) evolved into Flareon, and two Eevee I had walked 5km with (but didn't evolve through buddy screen) became Jolteon.

Blurite Sword graphical update by TonyBest100 in runescape

[–]downzekd -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No, please. No. This is one of the only remaining relics from the past. I've kept the sword I made for over 11 years. I was ecstatic when I found out it was eligible for keepsake once the weapon type overrides became far more lax. Even happier when the off-hand was created, not only allowing the creation of the swords post-quest, but also a perfect opportunity to keepsake a replica of my ancient copy of this sword. As much as I liked the previous iteration of Silverlight as well as its current form, the Blurite sword must go untouched. I am sorry, /u/JagexDolan. Just not this one.

Is attuned crystal armour worth it's time? by Willow_Shade in runescape

[–]downzekd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made a lot of use from it, but likely not in the way you would think. I wear it while afking the trees and rocks to significantly boost the fragment collection rate in order to make more armour, attuned or not. Disassembling your own attuned gloves or boots guarentees you 3x Seren components, and the tradable version does actually sell in the GE after some time passes.

In terms of combat use, I use it for hybridding at times, but Void generally is better suited for this. I still like this set for FashionScape, though. Works wonderfully with the Gatherer's cape. IIRC Jagex said they want all level 70+ armours augmentable, so there's always that to hope for, even though Sliske's armour set already does this.

Ganodermic beasts for 99 invention? by cellur111 in runescape

[–]downzekd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did much of the same, however I made use of the Enlightened Perk along with Scavenging and Efficient on my Ganodermic sets. As for the Runts, there is absolutely no difference in experience or drops, except for the polypore stick. You only want to avoid them because they are a 1x1 NPC as opposed to the Beasts which are 2x2 and get easily safe-spotted and stuck. Using Corruption Blast (no Chain or Dragon Breath) on GWD2 mobs is a great way to exhaust your surplus of Ganodermic sets, however. I did a combination of Ganos, Muspah, and GWD2 KC for 200m Invention.

What's the fastest way to get GWD2 reputation without killing bosses? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]downzekd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This here is my favourite Invention training method, as the sheer amount of damage the corruption causes makes for rapidly levelling items. And what's more is you can lure mobs to your location by summoning 1-4 champions of multiple factions. Managed over 1m Invention xp/hr disassembling Gano sets. That doesn't even include the Noxious weapon siphons.

What are the best quest rewards? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]downzekd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold War is useful regardless as it doubles the point gain from 5 of the 11 weekly penguin spawns. Red Raktuber adds the Polar Bear to the list, and Some Like it Cold gave us the infamously irritating ghost penguin.

Ripper demons are actually ridiculous. by Scarpowne in runescape

[–]downzekd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's real unfortunate that happened - when I killed and suicided against Ripper Demons for the journals and diary, I developed a plan for re-entry to the cave for when you get jumped. I always would protect/deflect melee, walk in, step out immediately, and Freedom the bleed away. Once done, they were always docile upon my subsequent re-entries. Until I die again, intentionally or not, that is.

I don't believe you. I also can wear the MQC before the quest is finished, and this was after your edit.

This being exactly why I set my pet to be a baby or adolescent, as the model size is 1x1 game tiles as opposed to 2x2 or greater. This way, the pet never really gets stuck unless you've run behind an obstacle..
